How are they going to decide on a team ? Nationwide open 3 on 3 tourney ?

What's the problem? If beach volleyball is an Olympic sport, why not 3X3 basketball? It's been contested internationally for a few years now. It's certainly a sport that's played recreationally.

I'd love to see colleges have 3X3 teams separate from their 5X5 teams. They could play during the summer when there's nothing else to show on the conference networks.

Can you tell I'm still in college hoops withdrawal?

I think this idea is silly. I'm okay with standard basketball but I'd rather leave the Olympics to events that don't get spotlight at other times rather than coming up with a variation of one of the major sports.
