3 pt lead. you don't throw it down the court

I said exactly the same thing when the announcers were calling for it. Overthrow it, and Duke has a chance to tie.

you keep it inside the 3 pt circle

I have to say the in-game analysis\commentary this year is the worst I can remember. You throw it long as noted and nobody touches it it comes right back to where you threw it from with no time going off the clock.

The announcers were right...with 1.4 seconds left in the game you chuck it down to the other end of the court, someone touches the ball, and either way the other team doesn't have a CHANCE IN HELL to get off a good shot. In contrast, if Duke gets a steal...can quickly kick it out to Rivers behind the arc, and well you know the rest.

yeah. because they can steal the ball and find Rivers for that easy 3. If the ball doesn't leave the 3 pt area, you can't lose unless you foul. Which you won't.

I see the logic but I see it as there is a real chance of throwing it out of bounds down the court. If that happens no time goes off the clock and they have the ball under their basket to setup a screen for a 3. If you have a bad pass inside the the arc the clock starts running then they need to (1) find someone open (2) make the pass (3) beat the clock (4) make the shot.

No way I pass it deep. BTW this wasn't the worst of the commentating but I really think it is the overall worst I have ever heard in a tourney.
