30.8% and 63.6%...

Isn’t it great when you gear your entire strategy around having the “best shooting team in Cuse history” only to have the other teams have on average at least two better shooters than your guys? While also being more physical, athletic and wiling to rebound?

I’ll say it again… I’m not sure what strategy or plan was used to build this team.

The plan was it's the players we could get. We couldn't get better ones.

the plan was jimmy and buddy and jimmy and juli...and fam etc

I believe we could have gotten somewhat less “skilled” players who would be bigger, stronger, and more athletic if we did proper team building, instead Jimmy recruited one dimensional so called shooters. A perfect horse stroke doesn’t cut it with a man in your grill.

Shooting percentage from three and the ft line.

if this team can’t shoot any better than that then there is nothing left.

yeah, gtown played hard on d, but too many open looks were missed.

Yep, this is it. We dont have a good defense so we basically have to shoot well to win. Jims not wrong when he says “we didnt hit shots.” But the problem w the program is that we have to play very good to win. We used to be able to blow out teams with our B game.

So we probably turned down guys that weren't as good as what we have?
Hard to say.

Maybe. But they could be not as good and still bring something that could have helped make us better.

It probably hasn't, but it feels like Joe and Buddy have switched last year's shooting roles.

Jimmy Edwards and Girard are averaging 55% from the field this year. Consider our sos. Will we eventually be forced to ask Girard to force more, seeing Edwards and Jimmy are more one-on-one than forcing?

Wasn't there an old western called "The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight"? Dunno why, but my memory just brought it up.

Jimmy drives from the three-point line a lot. He needs to develop a passing then drive game.

Simple screen motion for Buddy, 2 seconds after the pass to Cole from Jimmy. If that doesn't work pass back to Girard who should shoot off screens, and he can give it back to Jimmy, Edwards, Buddy later in the shot clock. They all look for the Edwards feed who comes up out of the low post some.

The problem is the first 2 options are shooting the lowest percentages.
