My Take

To me the issues with McLeod were pretty clearly offensive last year in his limited time.
McLeod had very low usage, only 11.9%, which would put him last among players who actually played. He didn't get the ball much, and didn't shoot much when he did. But his TS% was .629 good for third on the team, and he was far and away the best offensive rebounder with a 16.8%. The next best was Brown at 9%, then a big dropoff to Copeland.

He's not doing anything amazing on offense, but hanging out in the dunker spot, catching lobs, finishing alley oops and getting offensive rebounds will be enough.

His PER was second on the team, that's not all defense.

Yeah didnt mean his "shooting", more that I felt like he was in the way of the flow of last year's team. Judah wanted to drive and McL's positioning left his man there in the way. The O flowed better with Maliq setting picks. The numbers are hard to analyze since he played so few games.

I get what you are saying, but I'm not sure an exhibition game is the best place to judge these things. It wasn't under Boeheim for sure. Red could be different I suppose, we don't have much of a sample size to go by. I mayelf won't judge them by regular season standards probably until they play Texas.
I’d think Colgate would be a good test. Well-coached team, intricate sets. That one may give us a clue

I think people need to completely flush last year down the toilet. There is zero reason to keep talking about last year. This team is so much better in every single facet and to bring up what happened last year literally means nothing. Judah made the offense go through him and him only and those days are over. Naheem was a product of the limitations the offense had as a whole so he didn’t play great from things that didn’t have anything to do specially with him. This is a team. Last year was a group of players. We should all be excited about what’s upcoming

Agree… and the D was much more physical today with very few jail breaks to the hoop. I also saw Freeman jump into a double a few times… though it wasn’t clear whether he did it on his own or if Red is trying stuff.
