4 team college conference draft

Mel Kiper notices his mistake and said he meant to say Oregon State or BYU would be a decent late round play. Stated Wash St despite Mike Leach is too risky to pick.
Texas took BYU on day 2.

Texas takes rutgers to nail down the northeast and NYC. they acknowledge penn st and notre dame but no one else.

Texas owns the Northeast and much of the country as well.

RutgersAl is rushing to Texas' war room as we speak...a great victory for JERSEY POWER!

hes probably rushing to dallas, not realizing we are in austin.

lets go. espn goes off the air at midnight.

Bees PM your top 3 for your final pick and you won't have to wait.

so to summarize.....and this was not the goal, i wanted to stay southern centric but there were some crazy picks based on $$ and teams and not being conf orientated, but i digress, this was for fun. id love to do it again, not with a snake draft (which i originally thought was smart, but as we went through it...it just doesnt work. lesson learned.)

so heres my conf, as i stated before:

East: Syracuse, BC, Maryland, rutgers
South: Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Wake Forest
MidWest: Texas, Nebraska, aTm, Kansas
West: UCLA, BYU, Arizona, Arizona St

i think that can compete pretty favorable for tv $$.

we got NYC, Boston, DC, the South, Kansas City and the dust belt, Arizona, the Rockys and Los Angeles.

we got a ton of football championships.
we got a ton of hoop championships.
we got a ton of Heismans.

and i can continue later.

bring it haters.

you will lose.

that is the best conf just drafted.

Oh Lord

Oh Lord

in today's environment that conference pretty much sucks.

I am getting Cal, TCU, or Cincinnati so I don't care.

i'm getting cal, tcu or the raiders so i don't care either.

Ohio State- debating between TCU and Cincinnati and the Bearcats are a better fit for the conference the Buckeyes select Cincinnati and are disappointed the Golden Bears were taken the pick before.

UW, Indiana or TCU? The country awaits the selection of "Team Irrelevant"

Could Texas Tech make a late run?

With the final pick USC takes Washington. A top 35 money maker in both football and all sports and a great fit for the sunshine division.

Will breakdown my conference tomorrow. Big moneymakers, great TV appeal, great rivalries, excellent football, 4 pods with easy travel for the most part and very strong all sports programs. This was like taking candy form a baby. Az St and Lville were pretty much the only teams I really needed that I didn't get.

My conference Ohio State, Michigan, Oklahoma,Miami, Georgia, Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana,Georgia Tech, Duke, Northwestern, Minnesota, Cincinnati.
It owns the Midwest and the state schools in those states. It has excellent football and basketball and probably the best academics all around only 4 non AAU schools in the conference Cincinnati, Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Georgia.. The conference breaks down like this
North-Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Northwestern
Midwest- Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa, Cincinnati
South- Duke, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Miami
East-Ohio State, Michigan, Kentucky, Indiana

other than Syracuse bringing it down, what else does??

BC, rutgers, Ole Miss, Wake Forest, Kansas, UCLA, BYU, Arizona, Arizona St

Thanks to all for participating and Syracusefan's own Mel Kiper Jr. TexanMark thanks for the comments and we have to do this again. Its a lot more fun during the offseason than reading some of the other threads. Let's hear from people who has the best conference and why.

BC, rutgers, Ole Miss, Wake Forest, Kansas, UCLA, BYU, Arizona, Arizona St
wow, you are going to end up regetting naming some of those schools.

unless, you like sending your water polo team to happy valley.

and tv markets dont count.

good night and sadly, i cant retort till tomorrow night.

so have your arguments tight!!

peace

Texas-Florida, Nebraska, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Arizona, BYU, Kansas, Syracuse, UCLA, Boston College, Maryland, Ole Miss, Arizona State, Wake Forest, Rutgers
Alabama- Auburn, LSU, Florida State, Arkansas, South Carolina, Clemson, North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Baylor, Texas Tech, NC State, UConn, Boise State, California
Ohio State- Michigan, Oklahoma, Georgia, Miami, Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, Kentucky, Illinois, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Duke, Northwestern, Minnesota, Cincinnati
USC- Notre Dame, Penn State, Oregon, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech. Virginia, Kansas State, Stanford, West Virginia, Purdue, Pittsburgh, Mississippi State, Colorado, Washington.

Who has the best overall conference?
Who has the best football conference?
Who has the best basketball conference?
Which conference will get the highest TV contract?
Which conference has the best geographic balance?
Which conference has the most academic prestige?
Which pick was the best value pick?
Which pick was the biggest reach pick?
Any FA schools a conference should sign and dump another team?
Just some factors to evaluate the 4 conferences?

Is it possible to trade teams? Looks like Cal is gonna be pissed having their closest partners be Boise State and Texas Tech in a SE centric conference. Maybe a straight up trade for Miss. St.? Just a thought.
