Looking forward to this year! Very excited to see this team dominate Nova in the dome in 45 days! Go Orange

What's the chances that we can draw 44k for the Nova game? Just based on how our schedule is mapped out we have a much better chance of getting people in the seats. Last year was just brutal the way the schedule was set up. Think about it our home opener was week 3 against an FCS club after opening 0-2 and coming off a drubbing vs Northwestern, then having to follow that up with another stinker vs Tulane. We didn't have a chance. Now imagine if we could have started 2-0, I think we see 40k+ with ease for both games. 2 of our other home games both came after road beatdowns as well, FSU, and GT. You just can't expect people to show up after beatings like that.

Now this year our schedule sets up perfectly for us being able to draw fans. We get the FCS game out of the way as the home opener. That's the best time to have it. You have everyone excited about the start of the season wanting to get a look at the team. Plus it's a Friday night so it's the only game in town. Next home game is Maryalnd which is a semi attractive draw for which we should be 2-0. Now it gets real interesting. If we take care of business vs Maryland, and then are able to upset Notre Dame we could really be onto something with Louisville coming to town. If we can somehow manage to get to 4-0 we could be looking at attendance in the upper 40
s. Either way the FSU game falls in a good spot attendance wise. Having 2 tough games that could go either way won't have an effect on us drawing for FSU. We should have a sell out, or near sell out regardless of our record. Now the last 2 home games are the most unpredictable. The NC ST game is tricky since we will be coming off a murderous stretch. If we are in good shape we should have no problem drawing 40k+, but if we are coming off 3 losses we could be seeing a lot of silver. We have to win that one in order to help attendance for the following week.

We are set up to draw fans this. Now we just have to take care of business on the field.

That's the weekend of the State Fair. It siphons off the draw every year. :bang:

The FSU game is Homecoming so it should be a good crowd...now why SU has the biggest draw as the Homecoming game is another question. It should be a different team so you can lock in two big crowds before the season starts.

It's been that way for years. Homecoming my freshman year in 1991 was against Florida. SU has trouble getting people back for homecoming, so they need a top flight opponent to help.

They schedule the dogs on Parent's Weekend, which helps attendance immeasurably. That's your second crowd being locked in.

Forgot about Parent's Weekend...never liked that weekend since the parents would be in the office on Friday looking for their kids grades.

Which would explain SU playing Rutgers that same year for Parents Weekend.
