And regarding that easy fix, it's easy to handle this year as well since we won't have a 44 on the roster. So pick a game and dedicate it to raising Brown/Davis/Little jerseys to the rafters. That way, his jersey is hanging up there before 44 technically "comes down."

I just can't understand why SU makes this so complicated. What you propose is a simple way to fix all this. The tradition of passing on the 44 is great. It's how we have 3 great no 44's. Maybe we will have another player some day that will add to the legend of 44. Imagine 5 or 6 44's hanging in the rafters.

Cuse just got dissed by Jeff Van Gundy on the NBA Finals after they showed Jim Brown on TV. Why all the negativity?

I don't think a lot of these guys understand the tradition. Heck, I'm not really sure SU understands it either.
