It looks nice. Wanted to note that the date in the barber shop is 1831. Which is interesting.
SU was founded when a group of businessmen in Syracuse raised enough money to convince Genesee College to move from Lima to Syracuse.
What normally happens in situations like this is that the new institution takes the date the original institution was started as their start date. That did not happen in this case. Which I have a problem with.
Anyway, Genesee College was founded in 1831. Kudos to whoever knew that and used that date as the founding date for the barber shop (instead of the 1870 date that college moved to Syracuse). That should be the true date SU was founded.
Universities often have earlier dates from component schools. Trinity College at Duke University was founded in 1831 although the university's Duke Endowment wasn't established until 1924.
This definitely puts us back in the ring as a player. Let the factories continue to spend their millions or billions on facilities. When you reach this point there are diminishing returns on additional amenities. Kind of like the graphical improvements between the PS4 and PS5.
This weight room is a living showcase full of life and activity. Now part of a grand entry sequence to the Football Hall of Fame, this facility defines the exterior space and heightens one’s experience when approaching the football wing.
They built a new one so the old one could be used for the other sports and eliminate the need to work out in a cramped corner of Manley Field House in a makeshift weight area.

The football team will be getting a new weight room. They will be converting the old football offices along with other offices for Olympic sports as part of the "One Team" concept.
Once completed they will build the new weight room for football. Once that is complete, football will move to the new weight room and olympic sports will be using the current football weight room.
There's a lot of moving parts etc.. hope that made sense. In the meantime, they did a nice job tying in the current weight room with the new football ops center.
I believe and I could be wrong, that was the old football weight room that only football could use.
Olympic sports were working out, in a weird area on the turf field inside of Manley. It actually was pretty horrible to see when I took a tour of the facilities a couple years ago.
Football now has a new weight room and the "old" football weight room is now the Olympic sports weight room.
Again I could be wrong but I believe that was the plan.

I assume that's in the plans, but if they had a brand new shiny weightroom already, I assume that would've been blasted all over social media like the new football ops center.

They haven't started the build out of the new football weight room. They are completing the Olympic Sports "One Team Center" first. Then football will start the buildout of their new weight room.
This facility looks fantastic. There are too many people here who complain incessantly about the university, and they don't offer up a single word of praise when the school builds a first-rate facility such as this.

I'm suggesting that I don't see any of the folks who do nothing but complain about all things SU appear in this thread to acknowledge how incredible this facility is.
But you can be sure they'll be the first to jump into another thread to air their grievances about how SU sucks at all things.

I give SU kudos, and the facility looks great, but let's not forget that this facility is about 5-10 years late. We're already behind in the arms race.
