6 rushing yards, 5 interceptions

I know it was a Thursday night and getting to an away game is logistically difficult for a lot of people during the week, but I was still kind of surprised by the low turnout of Syracuse fans last night. There were maybe 250 of us in the entire stadium.
SU-Pitt might be the weirdest rivalry in CFB. The series is never competitive, it's just long stretches of dominance by one program. Neither fan base talks about the other much, let alone there being actual heat. And neither side brings many people to away games.

my hot take is i've never considered them a rival at all. i have no disdain for that program, it never seems to be hot, and it never seems to have something in play (even last nights game wasn't THAT impactful)

Again, i got to SU in the early 90s when we motorboated them alot so i have a weird disattachemnt towards them even when they're dominating us now.

My list of SU Rivals:
Penn St -extinct
Rutgers- extinct
WVU - extinct
BC - lost luster imo since ACC came into the equation
VAtech- hate them, hope we juice this one up again
Miami- one sided but 90s we were the top 2 Big East programs for many years

It has longevity and that's it.

If it went away, outside of a few saying we lost our longest consecutive game, no one would care or even notice.

It's the plain donut of college football rivalries.

College football is so dumb treating sacks like rushing yards

I mean it was still two yards a carry, which is awful

True, I kinda cherry picked there. But 2 yards/rush, 5 yards/attempt, 5 INTs, 9 TFL seemed too long and uninteresting for a thread topic.

Thankfully, team that sacked us 8 times last year only using a 4 man rush is the team we get to play next.

Doesn't really matter at this point but on McCord's first pick six he had LQA perfectly set up in the flat for a likely 10-15 yard gain.

FWIW, our totals among non-QB rushers was 20 carries for 38 yards. That's unfathomably bad.

And what's more worrisome is how we're getting worse and worse at running as the season goes along...

Ohio: 25 carries, 127 yards = good
Ga Tech: 26 carries, 129 yards = good
Stanford: 12 carries, 34 yards = ugly
UNLV: 28 carries, 128 yards = good
NC State: 31 carries, 96 yards = bad
Pitt: 20 carries, 38 yards = ugly

This staff needs to spend all weekend locked in a room at the football facility fixing the run game. It's a freakin' mess.
You don't have anyone who has the speed to get to the hole quick enough, or ability to make the 1st tackler miss.

We miss Nixon.

We ran the ball well vs GA Tech. We need to take that attitude against VA Tech.
Yea well we don’t have bulletin board material to fire up the coaches.

Or maybe it’s just that Georgia tech run D wasn’t that good.

They were 5th in the ACC going into this weekend.

Those dump offs were there multiple times . McCord was putting way too much pressure on himself to make something happen.

Yeah, I don’t even engage with most of these people.
We just need to get to next Saturday to wash the taste of this one out of our mouths.
