Give the former coach at Florida State a call and tell him how wrong he was.Correct!
Every single team in football has fake fieldgoal plays. Every single one. So what are you concerned about here??I think it's a waste of time. Spend that time working on an offensive play that can be run on fourth down.
I explained my reaction above.Every single team in football has fake fieldgoal plays. Every single one. So what are you concerned about here??
I walked by Dixon at the fan fest and got a quick dose of humility. Even as a LB, he passes the look test with flying colors (let alone a kicker).Longest play from scrimmage vs ND last season was the Dixon fake punt. Don't want to rely on it - and I get that it's not s e xy - but there is a time and a place.
I am talking about mathematical probabilities. They all choose to ignore them.
I would rarely kick field goals and go for 2 almost all of the time.I don't disagree with a lot of your thought process as shared but there Is a variable that we and opposing coaches cannot quantify and that is what percentage of fg's we expect to make. That number is somewhere less than 100% and givin our propensity to shank some easy kicks and come up empty there could be times when opposition expects us to kick and we decide odds are better to fake it. What are your thoughts on kicking xp vs going for 2 everytime? If you succeed at least 50% of the time going for 2 it would be a net gain but if you lose a game by 1 point because you went 2/5 on 2 pt conversions then would it matter if you hit 75% the rest of the year?
