If we were 5-1 going into the Pitt game that would set up for a HUGE HUGE game at the Dome from a program perception stand point and like I said the program is so fragile that we need to bust through a few barriers and a 5 or 6 and 1 start would do that. Now, you get to 5-1 and the fans show up we better deliver the goods or it looks like a popped balloon... Then again, I remember getting puffy after we blew out WVU in 2011 in the dome and that didn't end well

Could definitely happen in the next three games. We just need to stay healthy on offense and we'll be fine. I still believe in my 9-3 prediction.

One thing that has been consistent with BC no matter what team or division they play, is that their defense has been lights out.

I don't know if it can stay that good that long, especially since their offense is in transition.

I think the ideal realistic scenario is that we win the next 3, and then win 2 out of the Cheatin' Petrinos, NC State, and the Dudes. 8 win season would be an enormous accomplishment for this team.

8 W Season prior to Bowl... would be such a phenomenal accomplishment. HCSS would never tell you that because that staff believes they can win every game, but, from the outside looking in, I don't know how you couldn't be elated with that result.

I don't think decisions have been made yet from the AD's point of view, but, they have to be well on their way to making that decision.

Next 3 games are all winnable. SU would be in good shape if we come out of those at least 2-1. It will be nice heading down to USF with a relatively healthy team. Dungey and Phillips back and a week off to let any of the minor bumps, bruises and strains to heal up.

I'm going to say it right now: if we win these next three and get to 6-1, extend Shafer and lock up this staff. Obviously, they aren't perfect. I'm scratching my head about what the heck Fred Reed is doing with our secondary. But there would be such significant momentum if we were to get to 6-1, and we'd be generating legitimate buzz. Hell, recruits were buzzing about a loss to LSU. Can you imagine if we get to 6-1, or hell, even 5-1?

IF we get there, you've got to keep the momentum going. The biggest thing to help that will be to take any possible negative "hot seat" talk out of the equation for both the media and rival coaches on the recruiting trail.

We need to stop asking how to get to six. If we win our next three, I want a 9 win season and I'm not joking (grabbing a win in the bowl).

If ED, Erv and Ish are all healthy, this team should absolutely be expected to get to six regular season wins as the bottom of the threshold.

I don't know how anyone can have watched the teams on our schedule, plus the injuries that some of them got hit with, and think that we should eek out only six wins.

The bar has to be set higher.
