8 Man Rotation

Thank god Lydon, Malachi & Battle can each play 2 or 3 positions in the zone else an injury would be devastating. Still will be if a guard gets hurt without a transfer coming in. Imagine there's no way we go into next year without adding at least a guard if not an additional big.

This is going to be like a lean and mean 8 man A-Team.

Special Forces style; infiltrate enemy arenas, neutralize their best players, silently egress with the W.

I vote we nickname next year's squad SEAL Team Orange.

If that does end up the case, that's a solid 8-man team where all can play (assuming MM is ready as a frosh). But there is nothing but walk-ons after them, so injuries, suspensions, whatever would be disastrous...at least at this point...

I don't get the OP at all. The guys who are leaving were never going to crack the 8-man roster anyway.

We definitely need another guard. What are we going to do if Mali leaves? This is why I'm not excited about Joseph leaving. Couldn't he wait until Mali decided? I don't think Mali is leaving and if we get the kid from Columbia ok but we need another guard.

With Obokoh and Joseph on the way out, assuming Malachi stays, this is truly an all-in 8 man rotation

Guards: Howard, Richardson, Battle
Forwards: Lydon, Roberson, Moyer
Centers: Coleman, Chukwu

Here's what's exciting:

1 - Howard
2 - Battle
3 - Richardson
4 - Roberson
5 - Lydon

Or...

1 - Battle
2 - Richardson
3 - Roberson
4 - Lydon
5 - Chukwu

We can give teams some really different looks.

Wowza. Both equally potentially devastating.

I don't expect Lydon to play the five at all next year... But now that I think of it..

I don't expect it often, but I think it's very enticing to mix it up. The biggest strength of next year's team is that we can force almost anyone to play against a lineup they can't match up with.

Roberson will never play the 3. His rebounding is too important and is handle is too... absent

The lineup that has him at the 3 is predicated on making the zone as long as possible and improving rebounding in the zone. In the offensive end, in that lineup, he's not going to need to handle the ball much whether he swaps spots with Lydon on offense or not.
