So if Mark Coyle and his team agree with the majority of the fanbase that the home uniforms are awful (in addition to the grays), what options does the new administration have to fix them? How long would it take to have modifications made (ie. Numbers that are legible; etc.)? Is something like this correctable in the next 1-2 years? Also, didn't FSU have to get rid of its new uniforms after week 1 last year because they weren't legible or something?

Not looking to start another argument on this topic, just curious what options likely exist.

Well if we go to under armour we can uniforms like this

Probably could be fixed in a single season. But it would require Nike be willing, but I'm sure if we were gonna pay oodles of money for new jerseys I'm sure they would.

I was rewatching a home game from last season and reminded how the numbers/names are illegible. Shocked the ACC/ NCAA has no issue with that. Thought FSU had to correct this after week 1 last year.

I think the FSU issue was with the number color not being contrasting enough to the main jersey. Our numbers contrast nicely and are easily readable up close, they just suck at a distance and on TV

Coyle may have come in too late to make changes this coming year.

Gee--plus we have to wait for the orange uniforms this season that were unavailable last season. Can't wait to see what they look like!:eat popcorn::vomit::bat:l:vomit:

Correct. Jerseys are supposed to have clear, contrasting numbers, which sadly is a rule (and it is in the rulebook) that gets enforced way too infrequently. Uniforms are the scourge of the sports information world.

You guys clearly have forgotten how long it takes Nike to get uniforms across on those boats from China. Do you think Coyle would have access to those fancy flying aeroplanes or something?

have a call with Nike, tell the the uniforms stink, tell them to do something new, then hire the local screen printer to make a short term uniform for $50 to get us thru the year.

People worry to much about the little things. Who cares what they wear, just looking for wins. By the bucket load

I bet a non-trivial amount of people root for the teams they do because they "thought their uniforms were cool" when they were a kid.

I've heard many Cowboys fans say that they started rooting for the team because they thought "the star on the helmet was cool".

This is funny...and so true. We're freaking talking about threads for crying out loud, not a reinvention of the textile industry. Back in the day, in middle school, we made some very cool screen printing shirts, etc. in just a couple of classes! ;):) This is a relatively simple procedure if all of the parties are willing, able and cooperative.

This is exactly why I started rooting for the Oakland Raiders as a kid. I loved the pirate/sword logo on the helmet.

just like how now all the criminals, liars and cheats are gravitating to the pats...

sorry:noidea:

My bet is on a return to the mid 90s uniforms sooner rather than later (prob 2016). It will jive with removing the old guard and bringing in the new guard that respects the success of our past (recent past that enough people will remember fondly).

Smart businesses are built on doing 1,000s of non-trivial things right. It's amazing how we like to mock the uniform discussion but in reality it's a huge identity marker for the University. The only thing I worry about right now w the AD is the amount of crap he has to deal with that Hollywood left him.
