Disagree wholeheartedly. Let's leave it at that. You're not going to change my mind, I'm not going to change yours, clearly.

you really think dixon wasn't at the very least messing with the guy? Thats the craziest thing Ive heard in a long time. And i heard an LSU fan tell me the late hit with 2 min to go was "horse s hit"

No, I don't. I think he was a fired up dude who was fist pumping and wasn't paying attention to anyone being around him. I think it's fairly insane you see something different.

But again, I'm not going to change your mind, you're not going to change mind. So I'm done with this.

Who here didn't know immediately it was a fake? I'm yelling it at the TV.

Obviously a fake. Someone in our section said Dixon must be our long FG kicker. I said it's only 3 yards longer than what Murphy just hit and he made that with plenty to spare. It's a fake.

he moved over 3 full yards towards the guy with his head on him the entire time and showed the opposite of a shred of remorse for almost crushing him.

calling it a punch may have been what got you riled up - because he clearly wasn't hitting him. but he pretty clearly had his sites set on him from the get go.

No offense but i think youre out of your mind on this one.

take a step back and look at it. if it was an auburn punter doing that last week, you would honestly say it was a total coincidence?

COME ON DUDE. no chance in hell.

im not mad at Dixon, I like it. But he moved damn near 10 feet and threw a full extension "fist pump" that went the ENTIRE length of the guys head and missed by an inch. OK.

I would ABSOLUTELY think it was accidental, because I've seen that exact same thing happen over and over for the years. Excited player fist pumps, doesn't realize another player is as close to him as he really is.

Have you noticed that you're literally the only person who seems to think it was a deliberate punch? Have you considered that maybe - just maybe - you might be wrong and reading WAY too much into what was probably an innocent action?

I just rewatched the play. He bounced up, and took one quick hop step before fist pumping. Good lord. 10 feet? Exaggerate much?

Also, I would think Dixon is smart enough to not purposely punch someone and get ejected from the game. If he had punched someone I, along with everyone else, would have been furious.

Additionally, I feel like I should point out:

1) There was no flag thrown for a penalty.
2) Neither coach mentioned it.
3) The broadcast teams didn't really bother to mention it.
4) Looking at the LSU board, only a couple people got irked and most were met with responses along the lines of, "Give me a break."

I'm going to go ahead and think that at least one of those things would be different if anyone legitimately thought it was an intentional punch, even taunting, and not an accidental fist pump that got too close to a guy walking in front of Dixon.

I really like Winfield's potential, but he may be the worst tackling CB I have ever seen.
On that note Cordy Is one of the better defensive backs that wraps up when he tackles. I realize he has made some rookie mistakes but he is good and only going to get better.

What happened to Denzel Ward? I know he isn't a starter but did I miss something?

Great post. Would like to see us bring in a solid CB and Safety if we need to go Juco so be it. Same on the OL and DL we need one each who can work into the rotation.
No offense to our previous Jucos, but I would like to see us get involved with some 3,4 or (dare I say it) 5 star Juco. Not complaining about our past Juco players, I just wouldclike to see more talent if ee go that route.

Cordy is a Sophomore right? Would love to see him at about 190-195 lbs at that position, plenty of time for the Giant to grow.

On the fake LSU had the safe on as well I noticed. It was great downfield blocking by somebody, I'd like to know who exactly. Might have been 100% Dixon though.

Fist pump

it wasn't a fist pump. he saw the guy and threw a punch that purposefully missed.

he intended to throw a punch to the right of the guys helmet. nothing else. you don't celebrate like that. look at his second try to cover it up, its a different angle.
Check this out... Maybe the refs knew about his past possibly

I think you're wrong. The reason he pulled back was because his celebratory swing almost got him in trouble.

I never said it warranted a flag. And I clearly said he missed him on purpose.

But i don't know what to say if you think that is a normal fist pump. There isn't a question in my mind that he saw the guy and went up and specifically tried to "fist pump" by his head. It is exactly something i would do.

When did he "pull back?"

lol. this just keeps getting better. His fist went PAST the guys head in a FULL STRAIGHT ARM EXTENSION. and when he was done, he stared him down and then give (what i would call) a fist pump. You can tell the difference between the 2. Ive never seen a fist pump a straight arm closed fist punch style. I have seen the across the chest fist pump.

The video is on this page. Watch the instant replays. They seem to tell a different story than some of you are watching.

out of the entire space in the dome, incredible that this high flying fist whizzed so fast and on a dime an inch past the guys head in a perfect punching motion, 10 feet from where the guy with the fist started. I couldn't be so accurate in my seats surrounded by 200 LSU fans.

What does this picture prove? I don't understand why this debate rages on. Dixon's the only one that can answer it. This, to me, is a common celebration. I think the meaning behind it is being blown way outta proportion. Riley was fired up over a big run and conversion. LSU defender happened to be right there. I guarantee Riley has the same reaction defender or not, but, what does it matter anyway?
