Here is what fist pumps look like.

I got you:

I'm on a football field daily, Riley's celebration is not uncommon. I've done it myself more times than I can count.

No, you have not. Maybe similar to his 2nd fist pump where it comes across his body. but not his 1st. That is ridiculous.

There is no way you can look at the 2 and not at least see that I am more than likely correct. No one fist pumps a straight out, full extension punch at exactly face level. It just doesn't happen. Riley was caught up in emotion and wanted to get in the guys face. He did that. Good for him.

You are on a football field daily? You must be a coach. If 1 of your players did this at practice, you think its an accident? Not that you would care that he did it... but you would know he was trying to get under the skin of the other guy.

I most certainly have, again, more times than I can count. Point being there doesn't have to be a guy in front of you to do it.

Like I said, defender or not, I believe he would've had the same reaction. Why does there have to be another player there to do it?

Yes, people do straight out, face level fist pumps, consistently. Simulating punches, it's a sign of exuberance. And, I don't need you to tell me I dont, nor that I see it.

I never said it warranted a flag. And I clearly said he missed him on purpose.

But i don't know what to say if you think that is a normal fist pump. There isn't a question in my mind that he saw the guy and went up and specifically tried to "fist pump" by his head. It is exactly something i would do.

If what you are saying is true then not only did it warrant a flag but an ejection. Also, its technically an assault.

so he simulated a punch? in your own words?

and he travelled 10 feet and significantly to his right to c.ock back and simulate that punch only to miss by an inch.

Complete accident.

what the hell are you talking about? this is very stupid. you may want to re-read my posts.

Dixon just hurtled a guy to get a first down vs the #8 team in the country. He got up quickly and fist pumped into the air, when he saw the guy there he shifted slightly.

Do you really think he was trying to make the guy flinch or something? Like he had enough time after a bang bang play to hatch a wild fake punch?!

yep. because it wasn't bang bang. he got up and took 2 full steps in the direction of the guy.

What else would a fist pump be described as? It's always been a simulated punch.

Keep hanging on to your thought there, Riley Dixon will forever be notoriously labeled "the make you flinch so hard world champion shadow boxer."

He fist pumped in the vicinity of a defender, he definitely wanted to make him flinch so hard.

I just have to quote this before you delete it after you re-read it.

He was jacked up. The sequence your describing was quicker than the time the jack wagon from CMU had to pull up on ED.

it was honestly the just about the same amount of time. so there you go. I think that may sway some votes here.

He made a vintage "tiger just made a putt to win a major" move. It's very much a simulated punch into the air,

Also, this thread is insane.

I won't delete anything because I could really give 2 shats... Congratulations Riley, great run, swing away man.

lol. Ridiculous thread!

He's a punter. He just hurdled a guy for a first down. He goes to throw a celebratory fist pump, but is so adrenaline rushed that he doesn't even notice the LSU player. He throws a second fist pump because he's thinking ", ref is going to think that was a punch, I better throw another one to make it clear!"

Pretty safe to say you're alone on this one.

So he was able eact quicker after the 1st "fist pump" already thinking that the ref must have thought that it was a punch so 'I must throw a more believable fist pump than I did from the time he got up to move 10 feet directly to the kid to throw the "fist pump"'

got it. Good point. I realize why Im alone in that thinking.

now im going to be up all night wondering what motive a punter could have for throwing a fakeout punch after making a first down. I thought people stopped fake punching when they hit 10.
