Come on, there backup QB was awful, they scored three points the week before against Rutgers and he wasnt much better the rest of the season after our game. Can you ever admit a failure on the coaching staff?

You seem to point out nothing but negatives for the past 8 months or what you perceive to be negative. To you this team sucks and there just aren't any wins on the schedule. We will see.

Its fine to be extra supportive of the coaching staff and sometimes they are unfairly blamed but jesus sometimes a spade is a spade. The BE isnt the SEC light its the worst BCS conference and were talking about a true freshman QB who looked horrible. There was a huge drop off from the starter to him.

The BE wasn't the worst BCS conference and never has been. The numbers don't lie. The ACC has been the worst for some time. The best teams in the ACC have been teams taken from the BE. BTW WVU crushed Clemson in the BCS last year. Stop putting the BE down!! At least what the BE was.

LOL nothing but the negatives? Sorry I just point out the truth or what I feel about the team/program. There are plenty of wins to get on this schedule and I believe this Saturday is a great chance. I also praised Marrone for brining in those Late JUCO's including Clark who I think was a great move. I am also high on Lemon having a huge senior year, Thompson, Coker/Virgille, the Frosh WR's and hopefully a much improved special teams. All that said I am not going to blame every loss and setback on the other team being better, that backup QB for Cincy was bad last year, maybe he will be great this year but he couldnt pass last year and we failed to stop teh few plays he could run.

This team still has a lot of issues that could prevent a bowl game this season but I am hopeful of a 6-6 season as a bowl game would be huge for this team.

WVU isnt in the BE anymore and yes they did blow out Clemson but the ACC also had Va Tech and FSU who were light years better then anyone not named WVU. While its true the best teams in the ACC may have come from the BE that was nearly a decade ago, the BE is the worst BCS conference, we had UConn in the Fiesta or whatever it was a few years ago for christ sake.

I dont know what numbers you are looking at but the BE does not have an excellent BCS conference record or OOC record. Outside of WVU's couple of wins the BE for the most part has lost every other BCS bowl game including some absolute blowouts and since the departure of Miami, BC, and Va Tech we dont have a top Tier bowl where we send our #2 team to play the #2 from a BCS conference. Also you might want to look up the BE's non conference record versus other BCS conferences its far from great. You may want to check your numbers again.

* I did look this up and the BE is 4-3 in BCS games but 3 of those wins are by WVU. I would say that based on the status of the BE since 04 that is a good record but not excellent.

it's part of the reason i'm pessimistic about this season. have a tough time believing we're going to have a good defense if our returning players were worse than the injured guys last year who went 1-6 in conference.

I think our defense will be markedly better simply because we have so much more size and strength inside (including the returning guys coming back a bit stronger). Having the good sized depth at the tackle spots will be huge.

It should result in less gaping rushing lanes, which should result in more 3rd and longs, which should allow our defense to get off the field more often ("SHOULD").
