A ing time east coast friend called about the game and uniforms

I so agree with this...And I find it appalling really that the AD is letting Nike slowly destroy our identity...It just needs to stop.

If they did what I posted, I think that most of the uniform complaints would go away. You'd still have a minority that is resistant to change that will complain about ANY changes, but I still feel that you would placate a heavy majority of the fanbase by using the traditional color schemes even if you make changes to the style of the uniforms themselves.

I'm an old coot, definitely not a youngun, and the only thing "sick" in my household is my wife w/ her bad cold.
I LOVED the unis...thought they were creative, especially the helmets. Since we'd already strayed from the "classic" unis of the Coach Mac Era, then we might as well get with the times. I would've loved to stick w/ our classics, like a Penn State, but that ship has sailed. :noidea:

That's very early on. I think that's Cliff Warwell who beat Louisville with a specactular lay-up in JB"s first game but left the team not long afterwards. That's Pitino to JB's right. Mark Meadors is to his left and I think that's a very young Bernie Fine with a fine crop of hair over Mark's shoulder. This is probably late 1976.

Looks like an "NCAA 1977" banner in the foreground, so you're close. Probably the Cornbread Maxwell Charlotte game.

A little orange, a little blue, a lot of platinum and a lot of sweat!
Those sweat-soaking panels made us look out of shape and gassed, while ND looked cool and collected.
Did George Costanza have anything to do with them?

People who think these Nike uniforms today are cool = the people in the 1970s that thought Boeheim looked stylish here.

As someone who was alive in the 70s, I can tell you with certainty that no one ever thought Boeheim looked or dressed "stylish" back then.
