With all the crap rumors coming out, it makes you think that someone on the inside (or not) is trying to embarrass Coyle.

No he's straight up saying that Ash and Durkin formally declined an offer. We have no idea if its true, but Tortora definitely has some sneaky inside sources on weird stuff sometimes.

Looks like it was a reply that someone tweeted at him that said we only technically offered the HC position to one guy, then Tortora comes back and says "no, thats wrong. we offered it to 3."

That's crazy. I can understand Coyle getting antsy knowing he can't finalize a deal with Babers until after their game on Friday so wanting to interview other guys for due diligence and to make sure he still feels warm and fuzzy about the Babers choice.

I'm just spit balling and pretending I know what I'm talking about but you gotta think with these things you go in with a vision of what you want. Frost and Babers (offense!) are pretty different than Ash and Durkin. Maybe you want to make the other schools think someone is a hot commodity and pull the trigger to lock them up while your real target won't sign until late Friday/Saturday. Maybe the message was lost in translation as it made it's way to Tortora or someone has an axe to grind with Coyle.
