There's a local semi-pro team asking for opinions on uni colors. Their main team colors are pretty much ours and the design is almost exact. His choices were orange, blue, white, and gray. He's picking two. Everyone the guy polled is in love with the gray. I tried warn him...

The University is well aware of the issue.

The Athletic Department gets more complaints about the football uniforms than any other football-related complaint.

The unofficial count - as compiled by the Department - is 3-1 against the present uniforms. A very large majority wants a return to the Coach Mac uniform.

The school is still legally committed to the present look for I believe two years.

We have worn these awful uniforms for 2 years now.
2015 season and 2016 season.

The Orange top is a lot more readable than the blue top. I am surprised they can't get Nike to clean up the numerals for vision. At the games when we wear blue I can't read the numbers a lot of the time.

We have a pretty ridiculous contract then. We don't have the option to ask said provider to fold in a once per year retro uniform to at least satiate the fan base that wants it (like me). I don't get how BC can use their Flutie 84 vintages for a game per year and yet we're in a uniform gulag with these atrocious uniforms.

If i'm the university, figure it out b/c the uniforms reflect poorly on the provider more than anything.

It's really bizarre and I think the contract is an excuse because the rank and file, paying customers/alum/boosters prob unanimously hate the uniforms and the team itself (players, staff) actually like it. that's my theory anyway. They are probably trying to figure how to cut the baby and have both via their contract (maybe the contract doesn't allow retros or something).

We have four jerseys and they don't even sell three of them. And of the one you can buy, you can't even buy an authentic. It's inexplicable.

What's really bizarre is your contention that the groups you listed "prob UNANIMOUSLY" hate the uniforms. The use of the word fragment "prob" may have saved you from being completely wrong.

A couple of years ago you could order the current blue jersey with custom number and name. I did not get one as my last name is Dixon, and because of Riley it wouldn't let me order due to NCAA rules. This was through Fanatics or the cuse.com store which is also fanatics I think.

I do agree. We are a very old Northeastern program and should stick to the old school tradition style...ala Penn State. We're not Oregon or some of these other schools that have 10 variations of their uniform.

Yes, but our 20+ years of awfulness to mediocrity calls for a changeup. We aren't PSU or USC or OSU. with all the success they had recently, even they have modernized their unis. We need to keep it bold. Bold numbers, use tbe white, blue, and ORANGE, boldly...block numbers, no strip on the helmut, it screams HS. love the orange glitter look, the white helmut, and the matte look. We still need to appeal to 18 year olds. We havent been good enough to go beck to the McNabb garb.

20 years?

Not quite that long.

And, while we used the traditional Coach Mac uniforms we went to and won two bowl games in 2010 and 2012.

Those uniforms are the brand of success for the program.

Just as the Braves, Islanders, NY Jets, Blue Jays, and others (even Lite Beer from Miller for gosh sakes!) have done, we should return to the brand of success.

Although we have had trouble lately, as far as I am concerned we are in the same category as USC, Penn State and Ohio State - we have a proud football tradition - as proud as any in the U.S.

And it's about time we started acting accordingly. Enough with the gimmicks.
