A Wes Johnson Tweet?!

Haha yea, I think its a good idea to bet the under on a 0.5 Over/Under - # of Syracuse players to ever be drafted by Minnesota again.

The feeling's mutual.

They screwed up flynn but theres no defense for wes, adelmans one of the best offensive coaches in the league and he cant do squat...not his fault he was drafted 4 thats all on the gm but he has done verrrry little

C'mon Wes is good for 6 points a game, it's like clockwork every game 6 points...no more no less. That kind of reliability has to be priceless. Do they take him out of the game if he gets his 6 point early on??

I live in Minneapolis. The Timberwolves franchise is a joke.

I thought they were headed in the right direction but rubio getting hurt killed their year...kahn should be a ball boy tho not a gm

I just can't believe Wes stands in a corner and doesnt move on over half of their possessions. I don't get it...

Twolve fans must hate Syracuse lol

They do. Go to the canis hoopis (sp?h site and just search for JF and WJ and see the various comments that come up. Youll notice that both of them are generally considered to have 1 positive quality: big smiles. And that is what has become the running joke with the Wolves fans and Kaaaahhn.

To be fair, they have some good writers on that site. To be more fair, they have some really, really stupid basketball comments coming from some people who actually know basketball. You should have seen how excited they were to get Darko and the absolute delusion they had around his productivity. Crazy.

That said, I don't believe either Wes or JF did anything to really help themselves in Minnesota. Neither have been very effective NBA players (which freaking sucks). Would be great to have a couple of other guys to cheer for and follow outside of Melo.

To say SU players don't translate well to the NBA would be an understatement. Speaks volumes about how good of a coach JB is. Hoping Dion bucks the trend.

44cuse

Love Wes, he was great in his 1 year at SU. BUT, he's an NBA 2G who has absolutely no handle and can't put it on the floor and beat anyone off the bounce. How many NBA 2G's have no handle? Yep, like none. He might be a little better at the 3 but if you have no handle you won't be in the NBA long unless you can shoot 45% from beyond the arc.

That's just it--he isn't a 2. He had to play there out of position last year because the t-wolves didn't have anybody else who could do it. This year, they drafted a combo forward [DWill] who got a lot of run at the 3, so Wes is locked in there. Frankly, I'm a little surprised that Wes hasn't performed better than he has. I still think that he's got the ability, talent, and athleticism to have a long NBA career, but it isn't going to be at shooting guard. And it doesn't look like it will be with the timberwolves.

Looks to me like he is hiding every time I see a Kevin Love highlight.

He is doing what is asked of him . . . the Wolves have a very good interior game and need someone to space the court for them. Wes finished strong from beyond the arc after a miserable start. Over the final half of the season, he shot .404 from three. He is also turning himself into a decent defender - he actually led the Wolves in blocked shots this year (but only because Anthony Randolph missed so many games). He is a disappointment considering his draft position, but as a three point specialist who can defend, he will earn a 2nd contract with somebody.

Probably true.

Interesting that they would ask a top draft choice to sit in a corner on offense and not maybe try to get open occasionally. I guess it is the TWolves.

yep, that's the Wolves - their roster is dotted with unused and misused Top 6 draft picks:
Darko Milicic, #2
Derrick Williams, #2
Mike Beasely, #2
Wes Johnson, #4
Martel Webster, #6

and that doesn't include Jonny Flynn

Sums it up all right there.
