They had to put AC in there. The amount of money the school is putting up to get this done they need to recoup down the road. How to you recoup it...you make it a venue that is more than just college football, basketball, and lacrosse. You make it attractive to concerts, big events, and more. And having AC in the dome does that.
Big picture thinking this makes all the sense in the world. It's beyond just the few football games a year that it would be nice to have AC in the Dome. They need to make the facility a multi-purpose stadium that can be used year round, be revenue generating year round for a variety of events. Having AC does that. the Dome needs to be a "money maker" for the school and having AC in there helps do that.
