Acc! Acc! Acc!

Clemson got better because of the success of FSU. They won the chip in 2013. Clemson didn't cry about another team in their division winning. They got some recruits who wanted to play and dethrone FSU. They got better and have been on a roll ever since. Thats the model we will take.

It's too bad Clemson didn't play against an SEC defense because they would have never have scored 44 points.
Sorry...a pundit said that over and over again, like each SEC team allows 10 points a game.

Way to go Tigers, now when SU kicks your butt in the Dome it'll be even sweeter!

What is also good is that FSU won a championship of late, while it's just been Bama doing the SEC bidding.

Didn’t skurey say the university was going to drop sports in 10 years anyway?

Also, curious to see if people think of ND differently now? Clemson was just at another level the past X amount of weeks.

This^^^

Terrible analogy.

Clemson winning is good for the conference which, in turn, is good for us. It gives us the chance to knock off the national champions next year.

What would we gain with an Alabama win exactly?
prestige

Agree. FSU and Clemson have established that it is possible to win NCs in the ACC. Maybe we can't get to the title game every season, but when the stars align, we can compete with anyone.

The commitment the university has made to the football program with the Dome renovation project and the Babers extension is a great sign.

We are in it to win it. War Damn Otto baby!

It's good for Syracuse University Football.

It adds to the prestige and profile of our conference.

It draws better athletes to our conference.
It draws better athletes to our program who want to compete against the best.

It makes our annual games with Clemson a national event.
Clemson winning the NC was a great thing for the ACC and a great thing for Syracuse University Football.

It improves

Very well stated. There are only so many spots on Clemson's roster. The next batch of players are every bit as good, and then it comes down to coaching where we are just fine..

Clemson winning means dollars to the ACC which means dollars to Syracuse. The more the ACC wins OOC the more money into Syracuse’s pocket. The more money in Syracuse’s pocket, the better athletic facilities, the better recruits, the more wins etc.

This isn’t like professional sports, the conferences are essentially large teams working together when you really think about it.

Let's not do this. I am a Syracuse fan first and only pull for Syracuse. I don't care for other teams in the conference at all especially Duke and UNC.

The timing of this is sublime. When the ACC Network goes on line in August, it will feature the defending national champion and one of the other programs in the final four. And it looks like the ACC is likely to win another NC in basketball in a few months, with multiple Final Four participants very possible.

What a great time to start a new network!

It's just the application of logic. The better the teams you play do, the better you look.

skurey It comes down to this. You hear recruits all the time talk about how they want to play in the SEC. All of their schools recruit extremely well but only a few have won championships. UGA hasn't won one since 1980 but has elite classes every year. Perception is everything. The ACC being higher profile helps out the conference. Syracuse benefits when the conference does well as does Clemson.

Maybe we should refuse the money ACC gets from success and exposure. Say no thanks to money we get from ACC network when millions of people are watching teams like Clemson play. That would be die hard.

You could also make the argument that the more Clemson beats Alabama the more likely the Bama fans demand they get him and he leaves Clemson.
The current speculation is that Saban will leave in no more than 5 years and that Dabo will replace him, with his being a Bama alum as the draw. Could easily be a dream on the part of Bama fans, but that's the story that's circulating.

This.

As of now, you can probably bet on the ACC being able to market Clemson, CFB NC and at least 1, Final 4 team...potentially National Champions in CBB as well.

Not a bad way to kick off the network.

I would say that was very plausible if Clemson only won one Natty with Deshaun Watson as you could explain that away with having an elite talent, but now with 2, and their current trajectory, it just seems weird.

I agree. Dabo can stay at Clemson for as long as he likes and the administration is giving him great support. It's hard to see why he would leave there for a place that looks at 10-2 as a lost season.

I agree. He's the best coach in Clemson history. He is making a legacy at Clemson. He'd only be apart of one at Bama. I can't see him leaving now.

I think there is a 0% chance that he ever leaves for Bama. He spent 4? Years there as a college player. He’s know spent 10? Years at Clemson. Clemson is now closer to his heart than Bama. He’s also building an amazing legacy at Clemson. He has a starting QB in Trevor Lawrence for two more years that can easily win him two more nattys. Dabo will be the JB of Clemson Football.
