It's the problem of everyone looking at the here and now. But, for some reason, Texas never loses points in that equation. They haven't been very good the past 2 years.
ACC's perception problems stem from the lack of BCS bowl wins, and the Miami/FSU problem, they just haven't been what they were. Both very correctable. If people want to call the ACC the 5th best league, that's fine. What you really don't want to be called right now is the 6th best league. Line is the sand is very likely being drawn (again, final revenue sharing plan will officially flush it out).
The meeting did happen...confirmed by ND
Orange Bowl Talks but ACC's denial leads me to think more was on the agenda

If I were Swofford, I'd hold the ACC/ND meeting in Dallas.
Actually I wouldn't mind seeing Notre Dame play 6 conference games in football every year. They could still play USC, Navy,Air Force,Army, Michigan St, Purdue. They could keep their money for the out of conference games, and a prorated amt for the 6 conference games. Much as I dislike Notre Dame, this would be a good deal for both sides. Notre Dame would still be Quasi independent in Football, but have a permanent place for all their Olympic sports, in a conference with many teams they have played thru the years. The idea is to logical to happen.
They could hold it here:If I were Swofford, I'd hold the ACC/ND meeting in Dallas.
