Acc and Notre Dame met today...

It's the problem of everyone looking at the here and now. But, for some reason, Texas never loses points in that equation. They haven't been very good the past 2 years.

ACC's perception problems stem from the lack of BCS bowl wins, and the Miami/FSU problem, they just haven't been what they were. Both very correctable. If people want to call the ACC the 5th best league, that's fine. What you really don't want to be called right now is the 6th best league. Line is the sand is very likely being drawn (again, final revenue sharing plan will officially flush it out).

It really is remarkable.

All the way back in 2009... you know, TWO years ago... the then Pac-10's highest-ranked team was Oregon (#11) and their only other team that was ranked was USC (#22). Yet this is a conference that has unquestionably been deemed as having a divine right to have national title game access.

It's all about the top of the league. If the ACC puts someone, anyone, in the top 4, say, every other year then no one will say boo.

Does that mean the DudeofClemson is a legit interest blogger?

Well, at least he got the meeting right, unlike the Dude who said a particular ACC meeting was taking place at ACC headquarters on a Saturday morning at a particular time and an ACC fan went to said hq (living blocks away) and then downloaded pictures on the internet of an empty lot on said date and time. ;)

Now that's dedication in the search of the truth. :rolling:

Cheers,
Neil

The Dude is The Minister of Misinformation...someone is feeding him a B12 agenda of lies, half truths and slanted facts to cause an advantage for their side. Psyops

I've seen other speculation that there was discussion of an annual season kick-off game between ND and an ACC opponent. If true, I wonder if SU's games vs ND at Metlife would be involved.

If I were Swofford, I'd hold the ACC/ND meeting in Dallas.

Actually I wouldn't mind seeing Notre Dame play 6 conference games in football every year. They could still play USC, Navy,Air Force,Army, Michigan St, Purdue. They could keep their money for the out of conference games, and a prorated amt for the 6 conference games. Much as I dislike Notre Dame, this would be a good deal for both sides. Notre Dame would still be Quasi independent in Football, but have a permanent place for all their Olympic sports, in a conference with many teams they have played thru the years. The idea is to logical to happen.

Will the games count in the standings? Because if they don't, I don't see the point. ND promised to play a bunch of games against Big East teams every year, too. What did we gain from that ? ND taking our bowl spots, is pretty much it. And of course some nice memories of beating them, even at our lowest point as program.

They could hold it here:
