ACC Games for Nov 6-8

Yeah, It'd be nice if we still had Q. NC State's needs to learn how to play defense, though.
He seems to have matured and let the game come to him instead of forcing things, and wanting to control the ball. (I watched most of the game) He’s become much more efficient, utilizing his energy to take advantage of situations not forcing to always create them. I don’t think anyone denied his talent, it was his judgement that needed to improve. He’s definitely a good player. Nice to see Chance Westry too, he’s also a good player that we never even really got to see. That SU team had talent but was very young struggling with leadership, locker room issues, in years we were looking for immediate results.

I think Q wouldn't get much run on this year's team. Wade is perfect for him.
NC State will showcase his talents more, but I think he'd get more run than you'd think. He could play 1-3, and initiate a fast break even when not PG. He'd be a great second string pg, and provide good minutes at the 2 with JJ down. If King and Betsy prove to not be ready yet (I think they'll be fine, but currently our weakest position), he'd slide right in there.

We have Kiyan also.

I would wager that having to transfer down to Mcneese and play on a smaller stage was a good reality check for him. I will be curious to see how he handles himself when the competition level steps up.

There were people here who wanted Council instead of George. Pretty sure we got the better player after seeing him last night.

Yeah - no guarantee our season ends as well as the Ville’s last year but getting George was like Ville Getting Hepburn last year.

We have Kiyan also.
Sure, but with JJ out he's going to take most of the minutes at the 2. We don't currently have any good backup minutes at the 1 or 2, unless some freshmen develop quickly. Even if Betsey and King hold down the SF position, Copeland would still get 20+ minutes. More, if Kiyan struggles.

It's all hypotherical, but we could use him, and imo the minutes would be there. Unless Kingz and Betsey both kill it, and White spends a little time at the SF, so Kingz could spend time at the 2. That would only leave minutes at backup PG.

For anyone with complaints I recommend you go watch our games vs Lemoyne, Colgate and Youngstown last year and compare with what you have seen these first two games.

Also go watch what Delaware State looked like against a Middle of the road mid major Temple team vs today.

The defense today took away the offensive options Delaware State relies on in the exact opposite way they didn’t the previous two years.

The ESPN box score has Q with 18 pts, 5 assists and 4 TO in 5 mins. How is that even possible.
Yeah, that would be busy even in 15 minutes... Even if he made 6 out of 6 three point attempts to get those 18 points, that wild be 16 possessions in 5 minutes. 18.75 seconds between events. It would be a he'll if a fun five minutes of basketball to watch! :p

Maybe if he drew a bunch of fouls and spent a lot of time at the line, so he could score without running the clock?

It would be a ton of usage for one player. Nobody but him touches the ball on his team. Unless Q passes it to them to get an assist, of course.

ESPN was wrong then. 25 minutes for QC.

Obviously a very small sample size being only 5 days into things but I feel like the ACC is off to a much better start this year compared to previous seasons. More blowouts, less embarrassing wins, and more wins vs power conf teams (unc over Kansas and V-tech over Providence). I don’t expect the ACC to be better than any of the other power conferences but it would be beneficial to Cuse’s resume if they’re at least closer to Big 10, Big 12, Big East, and SEC than previous seasons.

Noeklis Avdalas on VT is going to be a problem. Good lord his performance today vs Providence was unreal.

Edit: should have included highlights

Holy crap. This dude is HIM.

Crazy good all around game for a 6’9” guy.

That's... Hard to guard.

Heel have some stinkers if he keeps shooting fade away threes off the dribble at a high rate, but scoring 33 in an early season game against a Big East opponent is very impressive.

Nice looking player.

That will be Sadiq's man to guard. How was his defense?

so Donnie but more athletic version?

Was thinking more about Houston and Kansas coming up. I really hope people don't shut down on this team if they don't see what they like. Houston should be the #1 team in the country. Kansas is maybe #25 but also may drop out after UNC..

Point being. Very few teams are beating Houston out in Vegas, ok not the end of the world for us either. The more winnable game for us is Kansas, but here's where it sucks.

Kansas gets to have a warm up, shoot around game with NotreDame while we're playing a physical battle with Houston. Kansas's opening game is actually earlier than ours too. So we don't even get 24 hours like they do. Deck is going to be stacked against us that week, Yes it will show us where we stand but also this team needs to not lose confidence and the fanbase shouldn't either cuz we're going to need it for Tenn and then when Clemson shows up NYE
