This is so silly.

How exactly did this SEC-Big XII game change things? Most times, one or both of these conference champs will be in the playoff. So this game will involve 1 or both conference runner-ups. They already play this game, usually it's called the Cotton Bowl. I don't remember that game creating fear in anyone's hearts.

How far have the powers that run this sport fallen? This is like a bad joke.

It only changes things IF the unseeded Plus One is back on the table - which based upon the write-up for this bowl, doesn't seem the intent of this bowl.

The majority of the media is losing sight of the real significance of the bowl, which is the further eroding of the bowl committees, especially if it get goes out for bid so that one year its in New Orleans, the next in Dallas, and the next after that in Atlanta.
