I agree with this general sentiment, but we were 6-0 and nationally ranked last season with a win over ranked NCState as well as OOC Purdue. Hard to say that only warrants 3 tweets.

Scooch, I get what you’re saying. But college sports is big business, as we are now told every single day. And the ACC is a big business. And SU is a member in good standing. It’s fair criticism to call out the league for slanted promotion. Twitter is a huge influencer. If there isn’t some sort of level playing field for the teams in how they’re treated by the league office, then someone needs to be held accountable. Whoever manages that unpaid intern needs a little reminder.

All that being said, we are a northern tack-on to a southern conference. Only way to get respect is to grab it by the throat, and kick the snot of those southern schools. We haven’t done that in football and hoops for almost the entire time we’ve been in the league.

They don’t like “Yankees” and are still fighting the civil war down there.

I was at a bar in North Carolina and struck up a conversation with the owner. He proceeded to call us snow seagulls and very much is not a fan of quote “ you damn Yankees”. It was a nice bar…… but yea he was wearing denim overalls and cowboy hat lol.

I'll go one step further. EVEN if we took the throat by grabulation, no one in the tobacco mafia cares about SU. They cared about our northeast presence and the assets we provided them in a land grab realignment era.

We will always be a stranger in a strange land IMO. We built a very cool, northeast-centric conference in 1979 where we had absolute respect, notoriety and were always recognized by the league.

Yes. If you looks at the December 2022 tweets there are quite a few for SU Men's Soccer.

I'll push back a little about the Big East. I recall many of us griping in the late 90s/early 2000s about the disrespect shown us. Remember when we got screwed out of a Gator Bowl? Remember when hoops got the short-end of the scheduling stick repeatedly?

We were definitely a big fish in that pond, no doubt. But we had our share of grievances too. Particularly with the hoops-onlies and their voting interests. It wasn't all wine and roses.
