Rank in conference all games total offense and total defense. As of Saturday October 3rd inclusive.

It is only 3 games but our O is over 100 ypg away from 14th place and 1.2 ypp away from 14th. We aren't bad but really really really bad. In fairness we haven't played a non P5 game yet. But factoring that in we still are far off of 14th place in both.

On D our ypp is 7th in conference. If our O matched our D we would be like the rest of the ACC, good enough to be 2nd best and bad enough to be 2nd worst.

Duke game will tell us a lot about where we are. I am hopeful for a big improvement on O.
Without Cisco we are a bit vulnerable on D.

Unfortunately I do not see the offense improving. Even if OL gets better I do not think TD is the answer to put together long consistent drives. He will hit a couple of deep passes but not enough for us to win games with multiple turnovers by our D. Dino will not make a change this season so this will be our offense.

We will be fine wo cisco. Might miss some big play ability, but the coverage overall will likely improve.

Improve without our best DB?
I think our biggest weakness on defense, even before Andre was hurt, was stopping a power run attack.

Our DL is good but a little undersized, and they have gotten worn down in some of the games so far. That problem is likely going to get worse as the season progresses, though I am heartened by Tomy White's willingness to play more people.

The LBs are a little small and light too. Especially if Terrell's injury ends up being serious.

Andre is very good kniving in and making stops on runs. Not sure we have anyone else on the roster right now who can do that as well. We will miss him in many ways, but probably more with run support than anything else.

Duke doesn't have a great rushing attack, so we should be okay here next week. I think our worst matchups are with teams that run the ball well.

Lbs seem bigger then last year. 6’4 230, 6’1 230 and 6’0 235. Those are the listed weights that I feel are always a little light.

Why do you think they will be better in coverage overall? Are you basing it off one game against a true freshman QB? That kid is not a good passer yet.

No, not basing it on GT, rather thinking we might cover and tackle better as, let's be Frank, Cisco goes for the bog hit and pick away too much and to do that, he gambles. When you gamble and get a pick every 1 out of 5 gambles all people see and talk about is the pick, not the safety support on the back end which is free/strong safety 101 job description.

Iffy and trill are our best dbs, Cisco is best at opportunity.
Very much disagree and I think every NFL scout will as well. But that's what makes markets!

Are you banging this drum in every thread?

Not sure why you think the current guys are better at covering and tackling. Ive seen some bad tackling out there. Worse than Cisco. Plus the position is not just about tackles and ints. Run and pass fits, experience and leadership are huge factors too. He mis read some plays. I see a lot of safeties do that. Now sure how you can determine that's he's gambling. He doesnt always make the play but he is in the right spot most of the time. That's what helps him make plays. All in all, they can all get better throughout the duration of a season. (including Cisco), he only played 3 games into his junior season.

Those are better weights than we've had in a few years but probably on the light side for our system. Since everyone is so young, hopefully they continue to grow into the role more.

I love him too to be fair, but fact of the matter is, he isn't in the right spot and/or taking the proper angle more times than not. Our secondary, as much as we love their talent, has been beat time and time again. Yes, we all dig these guys, I do too. Cisco is going and has decent size and is just a dynamic human being who reps the team and school well. But, he needs to start being a safety and that will elevate his draft stock to the first 2 rounds. Hell, our young talent in the secondary is crazy exciting. I know I have been on the staff about certain positional recruiting but the defensive secondary talent brought in is off the charts and so exciting.

Ok cool, those are your opinions on him but no one on this team has proven to be better. Period!!!. Not sure what you are seeing. You're judging a small sample size and what Ive seen so far is not good. I saw lots of opportunities that a decent QB can expose in our back end. Even GT QB capitalize on it. There were guys no where need the ball on some plays. Guys slippin giving up down field catches, etc... Pitt game was not great. Dont get potential confused with current ability. Two different things, and there's no proof that we are better in the secondary without Cisco. That's wishful thinking.

I get it, but we were actually a bit better last week on pass defense, granted against talented but young and inexperienced qb. All my point is, us that the secondary has talent and play as a unit at times. My contention with Cisco is consistency, angles on coverage, and sizing up guys for the big hit when all we need is a tackle. The pro scouts and D scouts in the acc see it. He us dynamic, but he needs to do his baseline job too.
