You ask the question so you can report that it's unclear whether Cordy will play. Can't not ask it.
agreed. Honestly, who cares at this point. He asked it, and should realize he is not getting an answer. Go onto something else, like asking about attacking an aggressive defense. He needs to get his Dave Rahme going!

No I mean you HAVE to ask the question. You can't not have an answer to whether or not Cordy will play, even if that answer is "uncertain." It's better than "uh..."

He literally gets the same answer every week. Someone is always injured. Babers won't say one way or another. The end.

If I were his boss, I'd tell him to lay off one of the two avails and ask something you'll get a response to.

And his real boss will tell him he's doing the right thing. He's the beat writer. Nuts and bolts is his job, even if the questions don't get answered.

No - it's Babers policy not to respond. He won't either way. He phrases is different because he's good with words - but the answer is always "I'm not saying"

You know better than I. But in the world where info about a players availability is more likely to sprout from Twitter or Instagram - maybe the job needs to be shifted to accommodate actual things.

And that's his prerogative not to respond. But it's Bailey's job to ask the question for the reasons I already said.
