UNC went 1-2
Clemson went 2-1.

If you want to avoid Duke in the first round root for UNC to beat Duke.
We would get Nc State in the 8-9 game.

If Duke wins we likely jump UNC.

We didn’t play Florida State you can’t you use them as a tiebreaker that isn’t an equal amount of games.
 
Per SI- we can't pass UNC due to tiebreakers.

Do we want NC State a third time or Duke a second?

You can’t use a tiebreaker when one team played a team and the other team didn’t.
I don’t get why you don’t understand that.
It would cause the tiebreaker to drop down from Florida State.
1-1 vs. 0-0 won’t allow Florida State to be the team.
It would go down the standings.

SI is wrong...

There is an outside chance Syracuse could move up to the seven seed. Clemson plays Pittsburgh on Saturday and North Carolina plays Duke. If both lose, then Syracuse, Clemson and North Carolina would all be 9-7 in conference. In that scenario, a three team conference is created where their records against each other determines seeding. Clemson is 2-1 against North Carolina and Syracuse this season. Syracuse is 2-2. North Carolina is 1-2.

If Louisville beats Virginia i want the 7.

We would get potentially NC State, Virginia Tech, Louisville, FSU-UVA path.

They played FSU, Syracuse didn’t you can’t use FSU as the tiebreaker in that scenario it’s not fair to us.

The tiebreaker, I believe, has to do with record vs. the #1 in the conference, then #2, then #3, etc. And, with the crazy unbalanced schedules this year, fairness is not a criterion.

It’d be delicious, but id rather an easier path and save the blood/glory for the real dance.

if recent history means anything, chances are we may find UNC/UVA/Duke in the NCAA tournament again anyways

You can’t use a 1-1 vs. 0-0 as a tiebreaker. It goes down the line till you find a team with an even amount of games.
 
Any way you look at it we can expect a war in our first game. No matter the seed it's likely we play Duke or NC State.
 
Too bad tonight wasn't the ACCT, would've been a Q1 win for us.

Sadly I'm talking myself into thinking another game vs Duke would be best for us

If Clemson loses they are also 9-7. We’d get the 7 seed in that scenario. 3 way tie we have the 2nd best record of the 3 team mini conference.

ok so are we sure this is accurate?

On the one hand I can’t help but think it’s tough to beat a team 3 times in a season...

On the other hand I can’t help but think dook is considerably better than nc st, and Hurt could go for 40...

And on yet another hand I can’t help but think a win over dook would be far more valuable, especially if we lose in the next round...
