Adding another game next week?

Yep. Canisius is also off til next Saturday
It looks like playing Binghamton this week could be a problem, since we’re in one of Cuomo’s orange zones. According to an article in yesterday’s Syracuse newspaper, “a game between the Binghamton men’s basketball team and Canisius was postponed due to restrictions within Broome County that will not allow Binghamton University teams to travel to or play host to schools located within an ‘orange or red zone’ in accordance with the New York State’s Cluster Action Initiative.”

I wonder if a school Manhattan or Fordham is who they’re eyeing. Manhattan has played only twice due to pausing activities, while Fordham’s first two were cancelled because of other team’s pauses, then went into their own pause late last month so they haven’t played a game and should be desperate to get games in.

this would be a fun game

SLU is good. But they struggle shooting. Would be an interesting game. They would probably dominate us on the boards, but without many good shooters we would probably have the advantage.

They’re also not huge. French is a beast, but he’s only 6-7.

Goodwin is one of the best rebounding guards in the country. French is the type of undersized big guy that gives us fits. They also have a kid Perkins who can score with anyone.

Would be a very tough game. But I think our zone would be the difference.

Wonder if Albany might be ready for a game. Theta shut down the program early last month and canceled first few games but are scheduled to open wit their conference schedule a week from today.

What about Stonybrook? Or St Johns?

What about Stonybrook? Or St Johns?
Stonybrook has no room for another OOC game. I think they are out.

SUNY Albany might be a possibility. Their men’s and women’s teams were paused on 12/3 but the women starting playing against on Friday 12/11. The men have canceled with first 3 games (lots of room for adding OOC games) and are currently not scheduled to play their first game until 12/19.

If both teams were paused on 12/3 and the women are back playing. I would think the men can probably start playing as well. One thing we know is that the SUNY schools are testing to levels that ACC schools require (the men and women have already played or are about to play some). This is an important consideration for our programs than limits the schools we can play.

St Johns appears to have one OOC game left to reschedule. It appears they are not paused; they are scheduled to play Georgetown today and as far as I can tell, the game has not been canceled. Their game against Butler originally scheduled to be played Monday 12/14 has been canceled and their next game is not scheduled to be played until Thursday 12/17 against Creighton. So they might be a possibility. Maybe JB wants revenge after the debacle in the last game against the Johnnies? It seems he has a soft spot in his heart when it comes to playing the old traditional rivals.

Lost 94-79 to UMass in their only game this year

I don't know anything about Northeastern at this time. How competitive would they be? Regardless, at least it's a game.

I wish there was Twitter when I was trying to find a date in HS, college, my 20s.

This would have been my post, right down the the let’s ball hashtag.

I’ll shut up now. Hope we find someone to play.
We did. Scroll up. Like your college days, you were left out of the fun. Sorry bud.

Canadian citizens with homes in Florida... cannot get back into Canada

100% incorrect.

If you are a Canadian Citizen that is currently in the USA and have a residence in Canada, you are allowed back into Canada. They are not allowed to reject your entrance back into Canada. for "Covid" reasons. However, you will be forced to quarantine for 14 days once you return, and you could be monitored and subject to very significant fines if you do leave your Canadian residence.

The difficulty for many snowbirds is getting to Florida in the first place. You are unable to cross the Canada/US land border by car unless it is an essential service. So you have to fly to Florida. (much less restrictions on flying then land crossings) or another US point. That being said there is an industry being set up where people are having their cars shipped to Florida or other drop-off points in the US. You can then come back by car -- they can't restrict you from coming back in.

florida or canada in december . . . how hard are they actually trying? ;)

For medical reasons during the pandemic (higher risk of getting covid in the US*, healthcare risk if they do get it in Florida), a significant amount of Canadians that traditionally go to Florida are not going this year. Some people also don't like the forced flying aspect during the pandemic.

*That being said covid is getting out of control up here as well.
