Just realized that Boston only finished 26 games back of the Yanks, capped off by a stellar 14-2 loss to the Yanks tonight.

Finally the newly minted Sox fans in CNY under the age of 40 get a taste of what life was like for the late 80's / early 90's Yankees. Those pink hat fans were always surprised when I told them I witnessed 3 Red Sox playoff years (1986, 88, 90) before I saw the Yankees get there for the first time in my fandom (1995).
