Albany will end up being a negative

I don't think fans opinions on a fan forum require years of D1 football coaching experience if that were the case then no one on this forum is allowed to discuss any players or strategy ever. With that said I've taken Syracuse to 12 straight championships and been a solid recruiter in NCAA Football 14. I think I could offer some help to the staff.
I have coached other sports and have learned when a change needs to be made. I also have eyes. It does not take 40 years of football coaching experience to see this team’s offense and qb play is dysfunctional.
TD issues have been on display for the last three years. It has not improved.
Like others I have supported the team for almost three decades. Been there through the highs and lowes.
It is feeling like the Robinson years again. Going into each week realizing there is a very low probability of success.
No matter the outcome I will continue to watch and support SU, however, it would be nice to look forward to a game with optimism.
now that seems to happen only prior to the first game of the season.

I hear ya. I'll watch every game just like I always do but I too also get GRob vibes. It just provides a sinking feeling when a coach is seemingly unwilling to make changes. Things aren't working. Try something different right?

I don’t know man, that would be amazing but I can’t even picture that right now. I’m thinking like 38-6.

After listening on the radio as a child of 9,and for 66 years I'm going to the games as long as I can, just hope we have one more good run in my lifetime. See everyone Saturday.

Decades ago, when I was young and wrestled, we had weekly wrestle-offs. Guys went head-to-head against each other to determine who would be on the varsity mat on match day. It wasn’t divisive, it wasn’t mean. It was very democratic (small d). You knew who won. There was no debate. No one to blame except yourself if you lost.

I know we like to emphasize how a player responds in a game vs practice. But maybe that time is gone. Maybe Dino needs to have a live action scrimmage again - like I assume we had in August. The guy who stands out at QB is going to get the start and most of the snaps. These first two games have just demonstrated that trying to work two QBs in has been detrimental to the team’s performance. I know other teams find ways to use 2QBs but we don’t seem to be able to pull it off.

After we get a QB selected they can scheme a package or two for the backup ala Nassib.

Personally, I don’t care who starts. Pick one.

Somewhat similar thoughts..Albany will lose but it won't be an epic blowout...we need this game to run different looks. The only way it gets into the 40-50+ winning point spread is if Albany turns the ball over.

Hopefully 3 QBs get some work and no serious injuries.

We need all hands on deck for Liberty...our most important game now that Rutgers was gifted the game.

We have Albany on Saturday. A game we should win easily. Unfortunately that will be a negative long term for the season.
DB will continue to play the same people Saturday early in the game. Because of the lower competition they will look great and he will see no need for change.
We will play some backups Alford, Hatcher but it will be in the late 3rd or 4th.
TD will get a majority of the 1st half, Sharder the 3rd and part of 4th and Morgan the rest.
We will win big.
Unfortunately when Liberty shows up and we begin acc competition we will continue to see the same thing we witnessed Saturday because DB will not see a need for a change because we beat Albany.
I thought you were going to say it's a negative because we are paying UAlbany $380k. Need a big day at the concession stands to offset that.

Would work provided the qbs were not wearing the black vest and could be hit.

Apparently LaBrosse failed at it...can't believe he quit after the 2nd game
Yeah, not enough talk about this. I know it’s popular to blame our staff, especially after a loss. But guys quitting after seeing less playing time is on them. Man up, stuff doesn’t always go your way.

Maybe I’m missing something and there’s a better explanation?

We'll probably never know the real story...but unless it was some sort of personal or family issue...he really let the team down.

Seems like we've recruited a few kids with that mentality lately

Lol. If we were winning you guys would all be loving Dino’s folksy movie references. There’s literally nothing he can say. Just needs to pull the season out.

You are 100% correct. At this point, 6 years in, there's absolutely nothing he can "say" as for the most part, his words have fallen on deaf ears. If he wants to "win the crowd" himself (his quotes are so weary at this stage), he needs to 'win' games...and walk the walk. He no longer has any credibility IMO, and I'd imagine most are exhausted with his talking the talk malarkey.

Yes. Agreed - which is why the side effect of people complaining every time he talks extra annoying lol.
