I have never been a proponent of the theory that a guard cannot be a big man coach. We’ve done it here successfully a few times. But I have to say, the total lack of improvement in coachable areas of our centers is JARRING. How can a 7’ 2 guy with a 7’ 10 wingspan not attempt 1 short jump hook in 2 years here? I love Allen but I do wonder if our lack of recruiting success with centers isn’t him being used against us. Not to hang all this miserable start to the season on him because,in all honesty, Brissett has been, to me, the biggest disappointment so far and he’s Autrey’s guy. Coaching staff on the whole really needs to step up.
