I will agree to totally disagree.Nobody needs a nutrition lesson. Calling it one of the worst things you could eat after a workout/game is factually inaccurate, though.

Or maybe a couple beers?Possibly one of the worst things u can eat as an athlete that is trying to refuel their bodies. First and foremost is a solid protein source such as Turkey, Grass fed red meat, chicken, moderate amounts of sea food, and if no good protein there is always a protein shake with whey protein isolate. Next u should have a complex carb such as sweet potatoes or yams. Maybe some organic fruit added in with some high grade organic veges. Broccoli, brussel sprouts, carrots, etc. Dont forget after an hour after food or more start drinking some water with Celtic sea salt or Himalayan sea salt mixed in the water for proper hydration. Now the mixture of all this depends totally on the individual and what their training goals are as in more muscle or less, Stronger, or faster or whatever they decide will help that kid get better and improve his weaknesses.
Already picturing an article where Maliq says “Alyson getting rid of the pallet of Mr. McGillicudy’s Ye Olde Opossum Elixir was the key to our turnaound.”Matt Hamill, Utica guy and former UFC fighter, swore he got strong by eating tons of peanut butter sandwiches.
I've always felt (at least since I became more aware of what was going on) that SU was well behind the curve on strength and nutrition. JAB didn't seem to care much and players on other college teams looked like pro wrestlers. Hyperbole, but there was definitely a visible difference. Good on Red.
just eat first lmfaoOr maybe a couple beers?
Couple of pizzas goes great with a couple of beers.Or maybe a couple beers?
Note of interest: Jim Brown said he would fast on game days, and only drink water. He turned out pretty good. (Don't know what his diet consisted of otherwise, though.)

No, but it's likely a big reason why his career was cut short. Yeah, I know he had osteomyelitis, but his drinking and the resulting lack of self-care didn't help. Perhaps you'd like to also cite the 100,000 other examples of how drinking and substance abuse decimated careers, instead of cherry-picking one where overwhelming talent was able to stave off decline for a few short years.Jim Brown was an athletic freak.
So, he very well may have been successful in spite of that ritual, not because of it.
Mickey Mantle used to stay out all night drinking and chasing women.
Is that why he was such a great player?

Yeeeeah, no. Boozing to benefit an athletic (or any) career? Really? Sorry, boozers:You seem to have missed his point.
Probably Jim Brown fasting before games was as helpful to his career as Mantle's boozing was to his career.
Maybe not quite the detriment? But almost certainly not beneficial.

Nobody was saying alcohol has an athletic benefit. We were suggesting that Jim Brown fasting probably didn't help his athletic endeavors.I think we all know someone, perhaps many, in our lives that has made themselves considerably worse off as a result of alcohol abuse. But can we seriously name one where serious alcohol consumption has been a benefit? Then why would one believe alcohol would benefit an athletic career? Asking for a friend...
I fully understand the point. It is you that is missing it.Nobody was saying alcohol has an athletic benefit. We were suggesting that Jim Brown fasting probably didn't help his athletic endeavors.
Like Mantle, Brown impeded himself with his behavior, but overcame the self inflicted impediment by being just that much better than everybody else.
You are painfully misunderstanding the point.
