I hate to say this...but if (I know that is a gigantic IF) Syracuse were to beat Clemson, that means the ACC will probably not have a team in the BCS Playoffs...As a Syracuse fan I would love to see an upset, but as an ACC fan I would not...I am sure I will get beaten up for voicing this...oh well...I am sure there are at least a couple/few others thinking this. Our season is pretty much done...highly unlikely Syracuse gets to a bowl...however I would be both happy and unhappy if Cuse pulled out the upset...is this wrong?!?!

Don't get me wrong, I am not rooting against Syracuse and rooting for Clemson, however I realize that the likelihood of Syracuse winning out and reaching a bowl is pretty much slim to none...I was rooting for Clemson against FSU...even got my wife, who is an FSU fan to root for Clemson in that game after explaining to her the consequences.

I could care less about any other ACC team and what they do.

. . . . . . .
This. I don't care what Clemson does or doesn't get. I want to see Syracuse win, no matter what the outcome for anyone else.

That said, we could play this game 100 times and I think we'd lose 99, possibly even 100 of them.

Others disagree, but when you're bad, be bad. Don't mess stuff up for your conference mates. Normally I don't care much how our conference mates do, but in this sort of circumstance where one is going to cruise to the playoff, and we're dumpy regardless, let's not rock the boat.

I guess it is bit different for me as I live in SEC country and get tired of the SEC crap...would like anyone but an SEC team to be champ and would love for it to be an ACC team...

And...I am not saying I am torn between rooting for Syracuse or Clemson...am definitely rooting for Syracuse...but just stating the fact that a Syracuse win would probably doom the ACC from having a shot at having the national champ...and if Syracuse can't win, then would rather an ACC team win rather than from another conference, especially from the SEC...

Maybe we can convince Dabo that it's smart to rest Watson/Gallman/Scott this week...for the good of the conference of course. Also, he must let the SU staff know by 5 today if that is his intention, otherwise it wouldn't be a gentlemanly thing to show up on Saturday and play a number of 2nd string guys.

Yeah but Clemson fans are insufferable enough as it is. We don't need to heap a bunch of Walmart Clemson fans on top.

Another way to look at it- if we suffer, ALL MUST SUFFER.

And here I thought you were hardnosed.

Backup QB's have destroyed us the last two games. Are you sure we want Clemson resting their starter?

Sure. I'll take my chances again this week and next week with the backup QB's. BC can play their starter though.

I think the refs probably got a memo with this firmly implied.

Do you think we people say oh the ACC has a representative in the playoff they think "hey Syracuse is in that conference ! "

no. So your saying you'd rather have Clemson win then upset #1... Wow

Everyone has reading comprehension. It's just that many are bad at it.

Best way to create hated rivalry between a fan base is to unseat a #1 team. Nebraska fans still hate us too bad we don't play them regularly. If we beat Clemson - awesome, simply awesome! Bring the rain!:mad::mad:

I look at it like this. The SEC won a bunch of BCS championships and it grew the perception that they were the premiere conference. Making recruiting for everyone easier. I'd rather be a mediocre team in the best conference than a mediocre team in the worst p5 conference.

I root for everyone we play to win all their OOC games but lose to us. I root for the ACC to win all their games (easier than the BE with Rutgers and WVU and Va Tech) and lose to us.

So I'll root like hell for a win, but when we lose I hope they don't lose another game.

Good point...I guess that is what I was trying to say...

You should lose your Otto the Orange fan club membership for having thoughts like this.

No way it's that lopsided if the game is in the Dome. Probably 85 out of 100.
