a few thoughts:
- Alex is both the most talented and the most interesting kid on the show, but he is a bit odd looking and really struggles with his shyness, and the two combined make him really difficult to watch. I am afraid he will not get voted through; hope the judges use a wild card to save him.
- The guys are a lot more talented than the girls this year
- but the judges made some odd choices and have, IMO, at least two guys remaining who are nowhere near as talented as some they left on the bench.
- I thought Casey should have made the final ten, but I guess they fear that they are overloaded with country/Americana acts
- the only girls I like are Majesty (who is nearly as interesting as Alex) and Jessica, who I think is the real deal, but she kind of acts like a victim sometimes. I hope she gets a contract out of this win or lose, because based on the two originals she has done so far, I think she has real songwriting chops.
