is getting the ball into our big guys. According to Pomeroy, we are very low in ranking in what he calls FTRate, which captures a team's ability to get to the free throw line
FTRate = FTA / FGA
(free throws attempted divided by field goals attempted)
We are only 306 out of 345 teams. In my view, this probably means we are relying greatly on the outside shot and are not getting fouled in the process, at least compared to other teams. Should we try to focus on improving this? I for one would like to see a few more sets to get the ball inside and keep the other teams honest.
