And I thought Lunardi was a moron

All due respect, I wouldn't care if they had Syracuse as the number one overall seed. It's stupid to even have these brackets, and even dumber to care what they say.

I'll care when it matters.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I just can't believe someone would have a team that might be a top ten team so low, its the ultimate disrespect.

I don't think anyone is calling us a top 10 team without Andrew White, and those of us that are may be getting a little caught up in the excitement and hyperbole...but regardless has he committed yet?

Maybe we are getting a little excited, but talent wise this is at least a top 15 team, to think this team is a 12 seed, is beyond absurd.

Absolute cake walk to the final four and then maybe one tough game and we're playing for a chip! Gimme this draw all day baybbeee!!!!1!!!

We failed to win 20 games last year in the regular season and were a bubble team. We lost our 3 most important outside shooters from last year and the guy we most need in the recruiting class hasn't decided yet. We have no reason to expect people to rate us as a top 10 team at this point in time, and we certainly shouldn't get upset about it.

He probably doesn't even know about Gillon or TT. Not everyone hangs off of every Orange note.

I agree. I love it when they give our team motivation.
I sure hope our players don't get their motivation from a bracket some guy puts out in July.

the guy we needed most in this class is signed and hopefully BATTLE ready

True, but we did reach the final four, and we have a very good incoming freshman class, and a group of really good transfers.

Hahah, play-in and then UCONN in the first round. I'd love to wipe the smirks of their face by beating them down by 20+ points.

Better settle down...Hmmm remember the board experts have told us UConn isn't a rival.

Yes, Tyus is a stud player and an alpha dog. But he's not really a three point shooter, he's more fast, direct, gets to the basket at will and has a decent shot, mostly from mid-range. We will need to run for him to be most effective, and in that situation, we may get back to running like crazy out of the zone like we used to do. But we need a 3 point shooter really badly. John Gillon is a pretty good shooter, but not a "pure" shooter. Gillon is also built for speed, and is a very important player for us. Even if White signs up, Gillon is still very, very important. We will have SO many pieces on this team with just one more outside threat other than Lydon and Gillon - somebody who is a great spot up shooter. White is that guy.

Is there a precedent for Syracuse having so many talented individuals who've never played together before?

I'm excited, but no one should be surprised that we're not expected to be a top team. It's no easy task to turn this group into a great team in the course of October practices. I'm glad Boeheim's doing it with additional transfer talent instead of a short eight-man bunch, but there's still no guarantee that we're getting a protected seed (just like there was no guarantee that last year's Kentucky dream team was going to run the table).

I can see why Brian took offense. Some so called expert, four months before the start of the season, well before all the new players meet and officially practice with the team, and when the entire roster may not be set yet, is deeming that one of last year's Final Four teams will be a 12 seed; that is, barely squeak into the tournament and maybe need a play in game. It is insulting to JB and the coaches and the players, if not necessarily us fans.

The Iggy Jr's can be pessimists if they like.

However, it's also so early that you shouldn't lose perspective. Brian. Let the guys who get paid to predict stuff without real talent, basketball or psychic, go ahead. Then if and hopefully when they are wrong you can rub it in if you want.
