Hunt. Sure AJ has upside but i think that if Hunt had been directed by Lester he would have done much better. Hunt throws a much better deep ball than the quick lateral passes that George was focused on and Lester is a vertical passing coach Physically there is no comparison. Hunt is a man. Im not sure about the kid from Florida as he is the wild card and who knows maybe AJ puts on 20 pounds of muscle. Still we should be deep with plenty of game experiance between the three kids who played this year. The bottom line is that the competion is going to be great and we are going to be deep at the QB position next year.

Question is what changes will they have to learn in the new offense and whose style will fit better?

Sad to say but none of them is going to scare anybody.

Hunt is a warrior, no doubt.

But...he is ranked 90th (out of 126) in pass completion percentage, and an abysmal 113th for pass efficiency rating. He is completing less than 60% of his passes for his career. It is highly unlikely that he would do well in a vertical passing offense.

Good luck betting on one year of post-injury Hunt and stunting AJ's (or whatever QB there is) growth.

Hunt throws a crap ball. He has bad mechanics and they become even worse if he has to move. He can't lead a WR anywhere in the flat or on a swing and he's never thrown a good back shoulder throw like AJ can.

We aren't great at QB. We have Hunt who can't throw. Austin who can't run. AJ who has potential. And we have Alin whose talents grow by leaps and bounds the worse our season grows as we imagine Bill Brasky coming to play QB for us.

We all need to hope AJ earns the spot and we have our core targeting two years from now to make a real run. Otherwise these losses aren't really helping us and I feel like we aren't good enough for them to not be.

We need to stop looking how to get to six wins each year and start looking how to build a legit team that will beat the mediocre teams most of the time and the great teams sometimes.

Do you guys think that Wilson has a chance as he does have the best arm

He can't move and in college you have to be able to move some to keep opposing defenses honset

He can't move and we don't have NFL calibre talent on OL. Wilson would have been target practice for Clemson and NC State. He'd get lit up.

Not being able to move is fine if you are behind Alabama's OL. Not ours. We need to move the pocket and have a guy that can extend plays with his legs.

Have to have a different playbook for him but we have plenty of running backs to run. You don't need a DT QB in order to win. He played fine until he got hurt.

Are there any other Florida Gator 5th year players looking to get away?

I'd bring in 4 quarterbacks this class and pray we hit on 1.

I've always thought you should bring in at least 2 every year, even if it means you have to sacrifice numbers at other positions.

You have to have a playmaker at QB to win consistently.

ya if you don't have a quarterback in today's game you are done. we really don't even have a fighting chance.

Hunt throws for 300+ last season, we throw a party. Long throws for that and we're hoping for a Florida retread.

Long is the guy. He's just taking his lumps as a freshman. Plus the line was by far the worst all season, today.

Agreed. These people are nuts.

So far Long is a turnover machine. If Hunt did that everyone would be screaming for his head.

Will never win with those careless errors. The OC will be betting his job on this decision. Tough call.

He's a true freshman.

3 games as a starter, a badly banged up O line, a mid-season change in offensive coordinator and we're writing the kid off already? Really? Ridiculous.
Not writing him off. He is just not ready to play. But it is going to get tougher when he faces teams that have the blueprint for beating him. We have limited playbook and he is careless with the ball - he is just look at the tape. Bad luck burned his rs but it is what it is. We have no idead what he will or won't be. We do know he is not ready now.

I think you're taking people like me too seriously. But on bitter days like this, it can be hard to tell.

I think the crazier ones are those who want us to use 8-10 of our 85 scholarships on QBs. You'll really see a team with holes at that point.

But Hunt won when it mattered last year.

I'm not writing him off. But I'm not writing off Hunt either.

Both are imperfect.

We'll know when we have the right QB.
