As im sneaking in a beer at work i had to laugh at that, dont think brad stevens is worth giving up beer. Unless i was promised 5 national championships in the next 10 years under stevens. And even then id have to think about it.

He's done very nice things for Butler, but that style makes college basketball a worse sport. Stevens is right there with Ben Howland and Jamie Dixon - they seem like nice guys who are very good at their jobs. But they make my favorite sport less enjoyable. Coaching teams to foul for 40 minutes and trust that the officials won't care to blow the whistle stinks.

Kidding, guy is absolutely a great coach, but man they play some ugly basketball. If we went all Pitt/Butler chippy-style basketball I would be very saddened.

People thought Ben Howland would take the world by storm once he left Pitt and could get better recruits...doesn't always work out like that.

To be fair, he made 3 final fours in a row. But it's gotten ugly the last few years.

Its always been ugly, he just stopped winning because the good recruits figured it out and went elsewhere or jetted to the NBA!

The style has been ugly, but the results weren't.

I don't know, but you may be on to something. When you think about the NBA talent he had during those years, it's really astounding. Not all on one team, but we're talking Kevin Love, Jrue Holliday, Russell Westbrook, Mbah a Moute, Arron Afflalo, Darren Collison. And since then, just nothing. Amazing.
