The only Duke player I can think of was Melchionni and his family paid for his first year b/c K told him there was no room at the inn until the following year. Completely the opposite of Calhoun.
That's how I remember it, though there may be something else to it.
It is pretty shady the way Calhoun, and other coaches, use those scholarships. My thought is that as long as a kid is keeping up with his schoolwork (which I suppose can be defined in any number of ways), he keeps the schollie.
I wonder how we would've handled a similar situation. I'm guessing in a pretty similar manner.
