Andre Szmyt: Browns

Watched three games in a row on the ticket GB/CLE (which set up the chance for Andre to win it), Rams/Eagles, and Jets/Bucs all have blocked FG’s under 2 minutes to go in the game and all happening in the span of within minutes of each other. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a special teams feat league wide before

Later on Seahawks had a punt return for a TD and a blocked punt

Deebo had a huge opening kickoff return

Specials are once again special!

With two seconds left, K Andre Szmyt had a 55-yard field goal between him and finishing the Browns comeback. He stepped up and made the kick, winning the game 13-10 for the Browns on Sunday at Huntington Bank Field. :)

As a lifelong Browns fan, and in my 60 plus years…I can’t recall ever where the Browns appeared so dead and buried for the most part. And, in the end, somewhat miraculously pulled a rabbit out of their arse and won. Many times, unfortunately, I’ve endured that shoe being on that other foot…perhaps the Browns aren’t cursed after all? 🤪

Come on man, we Browns fans know that we are cursed- Cursed with probably the worst owners in the NFL.
This was a stupid-weird win. The team got 13 points by basically doing absolutely nothing on offense. Their lone TD was a 4 yard drive where 3 yards came on a PI that put the ball on the 1. So, the offense literally gained 1 yard.
The defense is exceptuonally good, though. If they just had a mediocre offense, they would be Super Bowl contenders.

Is there a reason they are not playing one of their rookie QB's? It's not likely Flacco is exactly lighting it up...

I think that as bad as Flacco is, he's currently better than the rookies.
The bigger problem is that they have a terrible receiving corps. They led the league in drops last year, had the 2nd most drops two years ago, and are leading the league this year too.
The O-line is bad too.
These are all remnants of the Deshaun Watson trade and contract. Worst transaction in professional sports history, imo.

Oh for sure. It's simply unreal how an NFL offense can be so poor, and consistently at that as the Browns.

At least this owner will spend the coin, unlike Modell back in the day. That said, I hated the Watson deal then (fractured the fan base, etc.) and, of course, in hindsight, arguably one of the worst deals in the history of sport. Also, I was a fan of Baker's, plus he LOVED Cleveland! The brass clearly blew it there. Additionally, I'm not a huge fan of either the Browns' GM, Berry, and his personnel decisions on offense, etc. Both he and HC Stefanski are Ivy league folk whom roll as being the smartest guy in the room. 🤬

Stefanski lost me when he refused to relinquish play-calling duties.
I agree the Haslams will spend the money. But they meddle with personnel decisions and force poor decisions onto the front office, not to mention they are terrible judges of character.
The main problem with how they sirens the money is that it impacts the payroll. If there wasn't a salary cap, I would say spend all the money you want however you want. As it is, they have no cap space to build a quality OL.
