Duke is not a slam dunk loss they have played a rutgers level schedule

Yup. Looks like we would only be about 3 point underdogs to duke at home if it were played this weekend

But I agree if we're trying to map out 3-1 the rest of the way, I'm ok putting duke as an L

Then we could win or lose the next three and I wouldn't be shocked.

Duke is 60-40 underdog game. They don't have the athletes that Florida State, Notre Dame, Clemson, or hell even Maryland have.
Duke has a smart coach, good QB-WR tandem. However, I watched the Troy game and they fell behind 14-0 on the road and came back, but aren't elite. To beat Duke the defense will just need to force some turnovers.

We have to beat NC State for win 4.
Then I think split Duke/Pitt and play the Clowns at 5-6 and hope the run defense can stop Tyler Murphy and the Eagles.

i admitingly have not seen dook play, but would assume a 6-1 ranked team having just beat a ranked gatech away, would be the pick to beat the stupidblue handedly.

their pitt game this week will be a nice appetizer for sure. scout 2 teams with 1 shot.

and if the clowns dont beat vpi this week, they likely will need our game for their 6th as well.

I just am not feeling super confident that we'll play well enough to win three more times.

Still tuning in, just not as enthusiastic as I had been. I thought Clemson was a good chance of a win due to Stoudt's lack of mobility. Bummed we didn't make that happen.

We'll finish 4-0. Long will secure the QB job. Lester secures his OC job. The balance between vets and young'ns balances out with PTG / West and Erv / Ish contributing a lot.

We then crush a P5 team in the bowl to end with 8 wins and become the hot pick for "watch out for these guys as your conference title contenders next year".

I don't care the chances - this is what I'm banking on.

Really need to find away to win the NC State and Duke games because I dont see this team winning two on the road to end the year. Getting to 5-5 allows this team to have one screw up on the road and still get bowl eligible. I think at this point were probably looking at a 5-7 season, to many injuries and the ND FSU Lville Clemson game stretch was just way way to much. ACC really needs to re-align the divisions the Coastal is a joke.

This way your divisions are balanced between powers. Splitting SU/BC, and Pitt/UL would be the hard parts.


Clemson-Florida State would be the favorites to meet in the CCG anyway.

Duke's defensive talent is actually below ours. Its just their offense has given them leads in pretty much every game except Troy and if we can double team Crowder I think we can beat them.

I had us 7-5 beating Maryland and Louisville and losing to Duke and Pittsburgh. I think 6-6 is possible just need to beat NC State, and @BC and pray for a split between Duke/Pitt. Pitt actually has more talent than Duke, but Duke's HC/QB are better.

yeah, im worried that everyone telling people to not be worried about dook are the same ones telling everyone not to worry about maryland and lville.

It sure would be nice to have a bye this week. I'd love for Long to have more time to get over his shell-shock and have Wilson get an additional week to recover from his concussion. Both Wake and NC State will have had two weeks to prepare for us. Wake didn't take advantage, hopefully NC State won't either. That semi-bye before FSU (vs. Presbyterian) helped them for a bit before they got destroyed in the 2nd half. A similar start in this game should be enough to put us away.

It's going to suck hard if we get to our bye with nothing to play for.

Depends on how the staff handles it. If they work to make sure the seniors get a brief moment in the sun, but otherwise just play the young guys to build depth and competition for next season, we could more or less treat the tail end of the season as we would part of the extra bowl game practices.

they wont redo the divisions as they don't have the votes to change it. best case is going to 3-5-5 schedule or skipping 1 current division team per 5 years
