Another man steps forward on relationship with Bernie Fine

Ugh. The most concerning part of the article.

Or exonerating? 3 of the 4 people I would think support Bernie Fine. Goldsmith's story is huge, its essentially the same story as Davis which takes away any "well its creepy to have a kid around" theories.

Wanted to post a Pic of Hicker/Goldsmith/Penceal but wouldn't go.

Yeah you'd think at least ONE of the three other people in that house other than Davis would've seen something or suspected something if the allegations were true. Doesn't mean they aren't true, but still. If I'm ESPN, I'm interviewing all three of those people (or at least attempting to).
absolutely no question in my mind that would have happened. Scene set 11:30 pm Thursday..." Where's Bobby, oh he is with Bernie, they are hanging out... Bernie came to pick him up." Um, why?

Exactly, since this was apparantly still going on.

I dont understand why some posters seem to downplay this story, yet take what some random dude on Facebook says like its a stone cold lock.

You sensationalist bastard.
...
Anyone else think this was peculiar?
"Goldsmith said Fine spoke by telephone with head coach Jim Boeheim. They eventually switched channels and watched a St. John’s game."

A bit cavalier, no? I don't know how i'd be able to focus on anything but defending my name and my venomous need for retribution.

I just don't want to see any other SU names connected with this guy at all. Good, bad or indifferent.

True, this new revelation is certainly really good or really bad. Especially with Hop.

Wait a second...how the %$#@ does this not come out in the original story. You mean to tell me Schwarz thoroughly vetted Davis and this story that he roomed with 2 Syracuse Assistant Coaches didnt come up or maybe warrant a blurb?

The other part that Schwarz left out, as was noted in the Journalistic Integrity article on Nation of Orange, is that Tim Welsh was an assistant with Syracuse from 1988-1991. Welsh said during that time he was Fine's roommate on road trips. Don't you think HE would warrant an interview or that would warrant a mention?

You could argue, and Jason Whitlock has, that regardless of how this turns out (guilty or innocent) that Schwarz should be fired based on how he's covered this.

It's interesting that Schwartz takes the brunt of the criticism for this. Obviously he is the on camera personality that has put his name behind the report, but isn't there a whole editorial staff at OTL that chose to run (or help Schwartz run) with this story. Presumably he isn't the ultimate decision maker on which stories they feature.

Well said. ESPN needs to take some of the blame as well. But it's Schwarz story. He edited it, he produced it, etc. Yes ESPN chose to run it, but as a journalist, Schwarz should know better. ESPN should as well. There is a lot of blame to go around from the way they have covered it.

Seems like everyone is going to be connected to him given the level of access to the program he seemed to have.

This seems like relevant information, ESPN, where is the article?

Oh yeah, that's right, you're too busy trying to frame the DA/SPD shenanigans as if the SPD is trying to hide the truth. How many times is that now that you've doubled down?

This whole thing is a joke. ESPN is clearly selectively reporting at this point. I cannot believe how transparantly biased they are. This story needs to be heard.

ESPN is totally wrong and irresponsible the way they are covering this matter. They should either report both sides of the story or wait and report when all the facts come out. BTW doesn't everybody agree that if the SPD was trying to cover up something it wouldn't be this obvious? I think they know what they got and are comfortable with it.

1) You scared the $# out of me with that headline.
2) Really does say a lot that you hear essentially the exact same story (down to Maui vacations and such) from Goldsmith and NOT any sexual misconduct.

Literally, no one needed the help of coffee to "go through the motions" this morning.

I dont think it was cavalier, but I did find that passage humorous. I was imagining JB to tell him to get back to scouting opponents.
