True, this new revelation is certainly really good or really bad. Especially with Hop.

I am really struggling to see how this is bad because Hopkins knows him. He was around the team for 20+ years...everyone knows him.

Did it ever occur to you that since Davis went to ESPN that others could also be/have been going to ESPN? Child molesters prey on kids that fit a certain profile, ie those that are not likely to talk, those that are not likely to resist much, those that seem weak. Just because Goldsmith and others had a pleasant experience with Bernie, doesn't prove Bernie is innocent at all. I'm thinking that the reason ESPN is pushing so hard and especially since even Bob Ley is involved, that they had additional knowledge that we don't have. Hope I'm wrong so continue to ease my fears...

You're right, Goldsmith's account proves nothing. But Davis' account proves nothing either. Lang's account proves nothing either. We have no proof of anything right now.

Easier said than done. I know myself and probably others are bouncing back and forth between "I'm pretty sure this is BS" and "Oh god, the whole program is going down." But, at the end of the day, we're all just going to have to wait and see.

Yep. Proof or real evidence is going to be very hard to come by in this type of case without a witness...other corroboration. I mean the DA/SPD really need someone from like 2008 to come forward and have an eyewitness say they saw him pants down Sandusky-style. And even then...guys like Sandusky can refute those claims too.

Nope. And just because Bernie seems to want to help troubled kids (including Goldsmith, who's father died) does not make him a pedophile. I keep reading how guys who put themselves in close proximity to young, troubled boys fit the "profile" but that same profile is fit by guys who actually help troubled kids.

Actually both Davis and Lang's accounts are proof, we are just choosing to discredit them. If this weren't beyond the SOL and were to go to court Davis and Lang's testimony and their versions of events would be offered as proof by the prosecution or plaintiff's counsel.

So there is proof, it just isn't proof that has persuaded us that Bernie had done what they have alleged he has done.

If Davis lived with Goldsmith for an extended period of time and they spent considerable time together before that, and Fine molested Davis every day for 12 years, the odds of Goldsmith not knowing something have to be extremely low unless Bernie is, as someone said in another thread, a ninja.
