Another must read on PSU. NYTimes article screaming coverup...

The Harrisburg Patriot News will win a Pulitzer for this story.

The article mentions Lynne M. Abraham as the attorney for Second Mile..
She was a Judge in Criminal Court in Philly for ten years and then became District Attorney for almost 20 years in Philadelphia, Temple Graduate and very very well connected politically in Pennsylvania..

And, yes...she's a criminal defense attorney now

If they haven't already, the Feds need to step in, and quickly. Only way to get to the bottom of this is to bring in investigators who are not beholden to the Penn State brand.

Also, I think this article sheds a lot of light on McQuery's actions. The part about how he meet off-campus with investigators in 2010 and poured out the details of what he saw... this is probably a part of the reason that he was deemed a credible witness while Curley and Schultz were not.

I also got the impression that he felt trapped within Paterno's power structure. Went to Paterno and nothing happened. Given the amount of coverup by law enforcement implied in this article, he probably felt as though even if he went to the cops, nothing would happen. I think to really judge McQuery's actions, you have to understand his place in the Paterno hierarchy, and the amount of power that Paterno had in Pennsylvania, not only on campus, but within the state itself. I'm not apologizing for him, but I do understand how he might have been made to feel powerless and trapped. [still doesn't explain why he stayed there for 9 years after the incident though].

Interesting to see that this was all blown up by a fan forum.

Not really sure if its sad, funny, weird, creepy that it took an internet posting to bring this about, but 1 small joke i will make in this situation:

Somewhere Bees is patting himself on the back for making sure Schiano didnt know Gulley was out...

:)

Sandusky will skate because he will be deemed too ill and doesn't realize he's sick along with getting a plea bargain in order to keep things quiet and under control. I think many questions will remain unanswered forever.

I have zero confidence that anyone but Sandusky will ever have their feet to the fire. They've cleaned out the President, AD, and Paterno - rather than getting to the bottom of everything and cleaning house, they're going for covering up the cover-up now.

In that psycho bubble in State College, it just may work.
