An overtime game that's in the 40s. That is kind of incredible.
Exactly what I was thinking about how ugly and why it wasn’t talked about more as a great classic game like a duke game that was in the 80s Pittsburgh was ranked higher than Duke was whenever we played them and we won the game on the road which is harder than at home and it never got any hypeAh yes, those Pitt games were seriously painful to watch. I remember seeing the final score of this game (couldn't watch it because of work), and having my jaw drop seeing that it went into OT and both teams still didn't break 50.
How I miss the days when JB could throw all that size and beef at Pitt. When GMac was out, he ran a lineup of Warrick, Forth, Roberts, Pace and McCrosky. Forth goes out and J. McNeil comes in. Sure, we had no perimeter game (neither did Pit), but at least we didn't get manhandled. An overtime game that's in the 40s. That is kind of incredible.
It’s kind of amazing in retrospect that the 2004 team was able to put together a very solid year despite having basically one outside shooter. GMac made about 75% of the threes on the entire roster. How I miss the days when JB could throw all that size and beef at Pitt. Not only did we beat the number three team in the country we broke their 40 game home winning streak!
Yet Jim had ZERO success against him. It's so weirdThis game was about a month after this one

I was absolutely demoralized after that loss and coming into this game was one of the few times I was convinced we had absolutely no shot to win the game.
So yeah, nailed it.
Yet Jim had ZERO success against him. It's so weird
Jim was 6-15 against Dixon. He was a Tyler Ennis heave away from being 5-16. This wasn't meant as an attack on anyone. It was just a note on how little success he had against him yet he had a much better record against much more highly regarded coaches. That's all. This game
2006 BET title
2012 at home when we had our best regular season ever and they were trash (and we still struggled in this one)
2013 BET
2014 home
2014 road on a half court buzzer beater
2018 with a different team that had no “muscle memory” on a attacking a zone.
I mean that’s the list, over fifteen seasons.

No I get it. I agree with you.
Dixon’s “system” and the guys he recruited to it, were JB’s kryptonite.
Just a bad matchup for Cuse’s style and system.
