Any buzz locally for this game?

Biggest tailgate RSVP count by a good margin. Mostly due to the kick time and possibly a desire to take the anxiety down a notch with a couple Fine Mess Pilsners pre game, but seems like there is still some hope among the core fan base.

And RSVP thread is still open for tomorrow if you haven’t responded yet. But suspect it will be locking very shortly.

I understand wanting to keep things relatively consistent to see if he could do the thing, but it should have been apparent from spring practice and fall camp that Collins could not process things the way the offense as it was structured needed. That's why Angeli won the job, presumably.

Sorry, but the best coaches make adjustments based on what you have to put your team in the best position to win games. And they make them right away. The fact that it took nearly a month to do that sort of thing is a bit of a red flag for me with this staff.
Agree. Fran may need to mature more to make tough decisions

Wait a minute! Did Fran not get the board memo that Jeff Nixon is greatest OC to ever grace a Syracuse sideline?
End runs were in our playbook last year. No reason not to try a non-QB pass. Gimmicky, but we have nothing to lose right now. This game should be the one where we empty our cupboards. No sense in thinking that an end run or trick play will be enough against Ga Tech, Miami or ND... or that they are needed for UNC/BC.

Local buzz is essentially non-existent unfortunately. The gametime has gotten some buzz for those that tailgate but overall ya its a non story locally.
Its hard to generate too much buzz and hard to fill the stadium when we are now playing the back-up QB, coming off 2 bad games and when nearly everyone is predicting an L. And even if we win, it isn't going to be considered a really big win. So i'd say not much buzz from that standpoint.

But for those that do go and with the night game, I'm pretty sure it will be a great atmosphere if we are competitive. We also need to show those recruits what the dome atmosphere is like!

Nah...them locals, for the most part, have taken Buzz's word and have 'found a life' nowadays. 😉🤪
man you'd be amazed at how right you are with this from some of the thousands of patients we have going through this place over the years, a bunch more recently. STILL hear it from now more old timers who left and are too stupidly proud (IMHO) to forgive and forget to let by gones be bye gones and start supporting.

As for local buzzzz, absolutely none. To quote one fan (older not going but watches) it's like learned helplessness (look it up young ins) or the definition of insanity this year once angeli went down and to expect anything other than more of the same from Collins. If that happens and Fran doesn't make a change we'll be down to ridiculously small attendance numbers once we get past this weekends artificial homecoming bump.

Very good point about emptying the cupboard.

This is normal SU play!

They made adjustments for Collins last game, just didn’t work.

From a football perspective, we're basically at 'survive the season'.

From a tailgate perspective, we've got a 7:30 kick and the lots open at 3:30. My moms bringing a toaster oven and I'm looking forward to making little stromboli while we stream the other games.

You can be a fan and have fun and have buzz for a game even if you're probably going to lose. :)

How do you fit the whole Stromboli in the toaster?

it worked fine, if we just could run for 1 yd and he makes the 2 wide open throws.

his bad first INT hurt but that wasnt play calling issue

we moved the ball well enough to score 35 pts even with spotty qb play

maybe, but those adjustments needed to be made in spring ball, not waiting for the season. they must have known then. that is why angelli is here. what is wrong with luke that fran will not pull the trigger? in this age of nil the whole business of redshirt changes. unfortunately, these days you can go out and buy another player. it just ain't college football anymore---thats another story. GO IVY.

Did you watch the first quarter?
Yes those adjustments neutered our passing game and once SMU figured that out…

That’s like realizing a person in a wheelchair can’t dunk so you stop calling for alley oops.

No, there was plenty of time to see if Collins grows into the offense. Angeli transferred removing the need.
