Not trying to stir the pot here but every time Boeheim responds like that, he shows his insecurities. To riff on JB's question to the kid, how many wins does he need to have to not see questions like this as a personal affront on his coaching methods? I think we can say with some confidence that the kid didn't mean it that way but that's the way that Boeheim took it. Never completely understood that side of him. I know that there were alot of folks in town who weren't sold on him for a long, long time. Heck, my dad was one of them. And I'm sure that weighed on Boeheim. He's just that kind of guy. But after the championship year, even my dad (along with alot of other doubters) came around. Despite all the talk about getting that monkey off his back in '03, Boeheim has seemingly never been able to feel completely at ease about his job and coaching abilities. Who knows? Maybe that's the secret to his success? Maybe it's what keeps him going after all these years?
