AP Tweet...Cantor...

only on this board is there dread after jb gets a vote of confidence. I guess it would be good news if she said she has her doubts about him.

If JB is fired, I'm fully expecting Cantor to be in the same boat. I think they live and die together.

This is very important. If liberals smell blood they'll go for the jugular. cant give them any room. just put an end to this and say that JB isnt going anywhere.

Darren Rovell, who has been critcizing Boeheim since Sunday has some nice things to say:
Syracuse continues to play PR game right. Chancellor giving vote of confidence at the perfect time. Can still change course.

This guy needs to stick to sports business. Everyone with a twitter account thinks they have something to say.

Well that sounds a lot more equivocal than the AP tweet.

Speaking briefly to reporters today at the Capitol, SU Chancellor Nancy Cantor said she was "pleased" with a statement issued Sunday by Boeheim, in which the longtime coach said the university took the "appropriate steps" in firing assistant coach Bernie Fine.
"Coach Boeheim is our coach, and he's getting ready for the game tonight," Cantor said.
When asked about his future with the university, Cantor repeated: "Coach Boeheim is our coach."

In case we had any doubts, Tristy is still an idiot:

Yep, b/c somehow this situation reflects some liberal/conservative divide.

I think what's interesting about it is that it may, emphasis MAY, change the power dynamic on the Hill.

People have written that Cantor is not really a JB supporter. May be true, may not be true. However, as someone who came here from elsewhere, she very well may have chafed, and for good reason, at the notion that Boeheim is the most powerful person on campus, just as Paterno was the most powerful person at Penn State. She probably thought that she was more qualified to run the university than the hoops coach.

I think that she now supersedes Boeheim in that capacity, as she didn't (best case scenario) go off half-cocked at the accusations. She is now sort-of the grown-up teacher in the room and Boeheim is sort-of the chastened student. The basketball program can still flourish, and the chancellor can do her job, I believe, more effectively.

Assuming, of course, that there's no more dirt out there.

While I like that news, I still don't think she should be commenting on JB's job at all yet. That should be an entirely different conversation for an entirely different time.

And then you'll get the "silence is deafening posts" like we saw yesterday.

Didn't she also give a vote of confidence to Pasqualoni? ;)
No, I believe that was Mr. Crouthamel.

Not until Jake's successor was hired and the team "under performed" in its bowl game did the rug get pulled out from under Coach P.
